HR Manager We are a combination of three specialty contractor/construction companies that operate throughout the West Coast looking for an experienced candidate to oversee all aspects of our HR operations. This position will support 250 employees and a management team to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations in multiple jurisdictions. Our companies are moving towards more technology-based administration to provide company wide support, improved employee access and updating to company procedures and this position will be heavily involved in this process. The "ideal" candidate for this position will have experience in the following: - 5 years HR management experience (construction trades a plus) with the ability to present ideas and innovation to improve company practices and best support employees in all aspects of our business. - Talent management, training and development experience. - Ability to travel to branches in Northern CA, Oregon, and Washington State as needed. - Prior supervisory experience. - Compensation (ADP Payroll and Report Writing, prevailing wage, Davis-Bacon). - Employee benefits, including 401(k) testing and compliance. - Workplace safety with an emphasis on Worker's Compensation, including WC audits. - Extensive knowledge of FMLA and other leaves of absence. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Strong computer skills to maximize use of company software (Docusign, Adobe, Fieldpoint, Mfiles) and provide efficient, accurate and timely reports and information. The Human Resources Manager is required to perform the following: - Evaluation of HR systems and practices with the ability to make recommendations for improvement, implementation and modification including: o Employee benefit plan maintenance, changes, and communications o Effectiveness and compliance of companywide policies and procedures o Maintenance of employee records - Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and on-boarding new employees (knowledge of E-Verify). - Support Management with employee reviews, counseling, corrections, and terminations. - Timely reporting for all applicable federal, state, and local requirements for the Company's multi-state locations (i.e., payroll tax reports, time off and sick leave reports, ACA annual reports, 401k testing, etc.) - Active supervision of the Payroll Department to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing including timecards, prevailing wage applications, multi-state regulations. Familiarity with ADP processing and report writing a must.
