Human Resources And Payroll Specialist

The Human Resources Specialist is the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees and external partners. Administrative duties include maintaining personnel records, managing HR documents (e.g., employment records and onboarding guides), managing and updating internal databases, and processing payroll.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain electronic employee records
• Process employee changes
• Process biweekly and monthly payroll and bonuses
• Processes and distribute reports to internal customers
• Completes employment verifications and background checks
• Assist employees with payroll, benefit, and general employment questions by phone and email
• Process leave of absence, FMLA and short-term disability forms
• Respond to unemployment and wage garnishment requests
• Manages new hire onboarding
• Track performance and incident reports
• Assists with HRIS data management
• Assist with special projects and acquisitions
• Sort and respond to incoming HR mail
• Updates and maintains company databases
• Other duties as assigned

• Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS system
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite

Span and Control:

• Individual contributor reporting to the HR manager

Education and Experience:

• At least two years of Human Resources and payroll experience

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
