HR Generalist Skilled Nursing Summary


The Human Resources Generalist plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community and creating a place our residents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of this position is to administer and perform human resource functions in accordance with current acceptable employment laws. Implements company policies, processes and procedures while ensuring quality records and confidentiality of importation.


HR Generalist Skilled Nursing Duties


  • Collaborates with department heads and Recruiter in posting requisitions for job openings.
  • Maintains all legally required labor law postings.
  • Coordinates and administers the new hire processes.
  • Coordinates employee department transfers, position changes and status changes, and ensures in-service requirements are updated and completed.
  • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
  • Provides guidance and counsel to employees and management regarding work questions, policies and procedures.
  • Regularly review and forward Onshift Engage pulse survey results to appropriate leaders.
  • Generates reports to track state compliance requirements.
  • Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
  • Participate in emergency management and safety meetings as indicated
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Meet federal and state in-service requirements.
  • Provide requested employee records during state audits.
  • Coordinates employee benefits administration as it relates to life event changes.
  • Regular attendance, reliability and punctuality.
  • Ensures employee records are maintained in compliance with all state and federal laws. Track to ensure team member compliance with ongoing education / licensing as required by regulation. Track team member evaluations to ensure they are completed in accordance with policy
  • Assists Legal Counsel in document preparation for legal matters such as state and federal charges, discovery requests, etc.
  • Provide guidance to employees and manager regarding employee relations and performance issues.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Reviews and administers all employee leave of absence requests in accordance with Federal, State, and Company policies.


HR Generalist Skilled Nursing Required Skills And Qualifications


  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, residents, and families.
  • Be able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
  • Able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • The ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
  • Capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.


HR Generalist Skilled Nursing Education And Experience


  • 1 year minimum of HR experience in a Skilled Nursing community required.
  • A minimum, one (2) year of experience in Human Resources and employee benefits.
