Job Description

These duties are expected to be completed by the incumbent with a minimum of daily supervision. Associated problems with these duties will be resolved independent of the supervisor for the most part.

Provide guidance and assistance to employees regarding human resources polices and procedures including, but not limited to, benefits, time and leave and immigration issues. The needs are communicated via email, telephone and office visits.
Oversight and Processing Payroll
Assist Faculty and staff with all aspects of time reporting.
Assist with notifying supervisors of any unapproved time or leave on payroll
processing days.
Monitor leave accruals and usage using existing available reports.
Liaise with University Payroll Services as needed to correct payroll issues.
Process bi-weekly payroll.

Employee Onboarding
Assist supervisors with creation, submission and close-out of job requisitions.
Coordinate with faculty and grants team concerning available balances for payroll
use.
Process new hires, both international and domestic. This will include UFID
creation, obtaining health assessment clearance as applicable, entry into
my.ufl.edu for approvals, new employee payroll distribution entry and general
orientation provided to new employees upon arrival.
I9 compliance procedures.

Position Updates
Correctly enter Job and Position actions as communicated by the
supervisor. This may include inputting terminations, position
reclassifications/updates, supervisory changes, etc.

Coordinates effort certification reporting each semester and assists faculty with review of reports.

Prepare immigration related forms for visiting scholars, researchers, and students for submission to the UF International Center.

Assisting Graduate Students with their Letter of Appointments for tuition waivers and waiver entry.

Perform general HR office duties such as:
Distributing correspondence issued from the HR office acting as liaison between
IFAS Personnel/Central Employment and CREC supervisors and employees.
Completing forms and running reports.
Maintain and update the Center Organization charts.
Maintain volunteer request forms.

Monthly monitoring of misc. items, as directed by supervisor, including tuition waivers, employment thresholds, work authorizations and training reviews.



Expected Salary:

$19.01 per hour



Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.



Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of HR policies, standards and procedures.
Knowledge of University/IFAS policies and procedures
Effective communications both verbally and written.
Relationship management.
Prioritization of workload.
Critical thinking.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to relate to and work well with employees of diverse personalities.
