Venus Media is growing and we're looking for an Account Director to lead our healthcare accounts. This is a hybrid position with someone ideally based in New York or Philadelphia.
We are a woman-owned, woman-led advertising agency that leverages media to engage, connect and inspire women, people of color and the LGBTQ community. We combine data-driven strategy, creativity, and longstanding media relationships to engage diverse audiences and shift the media landscape toward inclusivity for all!
Responsibilities
Strategy – 30%
- Apply knowledge of current/previous clients’ specific business and industry to enhance and further relationships.We need a Healthcare expert who understands the nuances and complexities of the space.
- Assist with trafficking, trading, reporting and billing, across all media channels as needed to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
- Developing and implementing strategic media plans for our healthcare advertisers.
- Upsell new opportunities.We need an Account Director with salesmanship!
- Proactively presenting plans to clients and securing necessary approvals.
- Overseeing implementation of integrated campaigns across digital and traditional media.
- Lead brainstormingto kick off plan and consideration setdevelopmentwiththe intention of bringing great ideas to life.
- Report out to clients and ensure all deliverables and deadlines are met.
- Ensure prioritization of projects, understanding of goals and media that aligns with objectives to drive client business.
- Working with Digital team to understand optimizations implemented across media types and improve performance.
Relationship Management – 30%
- Guide team in setting goals and project tasks and timelines, ensuring team members have challenging, level-appropriate projects and opportunities to learn new skills, contributing to overall team success
- Have foresightand understanding of projects tomaintainandadjusttimingofdeliverablesforteam at large, communicating changes to managers and leadership.
- Work cross-functionally with stakeholders to achieve campaign objectives.
- Act as the primary resource for Client Service Manager when faced with challenges navigating conversations with internal and external partnersand clients.
- Meeting with clients regularly (in-person and virtually) to understand strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats as they pertain to different campaigns.
Reporting & Analysis – 20%
- Responsible for financial tracking of client investments and reporting out to management.
- Collaborate with Client Services Manager on impactful insight writing that is rooted in data and action but pulls in larger media strategy.
- Act as escalation point for team members as they work through optimization strategies, proactively communicating challenges and opportunities across display, mobile, social and video.
Agency Stewardship – 20%
- Read industry trades, networking events, webinars and stay updated on marketing, consumer and healthcare industry trends.
- Work cross-functionally with digital team and creative partners to stay up to speed on new developments (new ad formats, targeting capabilities, et al.)
- Attend Marketing events throughout the year to expand thought leadership and network.
- Responsible for upholding a sense of community and knowledge sharing within the agency and with clients.

Preferred Skills & Experience
- 4-5 years of experience developing strategic media recommendations and stewarding media account projects, acting as a client contact.
- Understanding of Digital, advanced analytics and performance media.
- Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to discuss how those functions can or should be applied relative to the media planning process.
- Strongfamiliaritywithmarketing principles, analytics and concepts.
- Experience in the Healthcare space preferred.
- Strong communicator, written and oral.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to confidently present and “sell through” ideas both internally and to Clients, while coaching team members on these skills.
