- Experiment with different pricing proposals and collaborate with internal partners on evolving the pricing strategy
- Aggregate takeaways and represent the voice of the customer to internal product and engineering teams
- Coordinate cross-functional internal teams to efficiently navigate complex sales cycles (product, engineering, customer success, legal)
- Leverage a value-oriented sales methodology and promote our product to prospects
- Maintain up-to-date and clean data in our CRM; leverage reports in our CRM to provide business updates to cross-functional teams.
- Engage in discovery with prospects by asking targeted questions, understanding trends, and supplying to sales playbooks
- Drive opportunities through the entire sales cycle from pipeline generation through to close and post-sales
- Cultivate long-term relationships with customers
- Collaborate with business development and marketing to take findings and improve the pitch and sales collateral
- Maintain weekly sales forecast and achieve quota quarterly
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of forecasting & pipeline management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to sell at all levels from individual contributors to C-Suite
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Passionate about the Backstage story and an appetite to become fluent in Backstage’s technology, open source, and the Developer Experience industry.
- Have 5+ years of sales experience, ideally in SaaS or enterprise technology, selling to mid-market or enterprise accounts, including previous outbound prospecting experience
- Experience with CRMs (experience with Hubspot highly preferred)
- Strong customer orientation and affinity for delivering a special customer experience
- Maintain a proven record of consistently exceeding quotas
- A consultative, relationship-driven sales philosophy
