Job Description
Summary
To fully develop the Group Market Segment both with the emphasis on Group production especially for higher rated, less price sensitive business within a specified geographic territory and vertical markets concentrating on the solicitation of new profitable business.

To merchandise as skillfully as possible the guest rooms and function space to maximize revenue potential for the hotel and to ensure that the customer has the best possible meeting experience.

To achieve monthly room night goals, develop and implement sales action plans, maintain positive interdepartmental communications and to complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and follow-up of the Quarterly SMART Sales Action Plan.
  • Maintain aggressive weekly telephone, site inspection and sales call goals.
  • Follow up promptly on all leads.
  • Maintain all files with current trace dates, accurate histories and all relevant information regarding booking activity.
  • Is current and abides by all sales office procedures and systems.
  • Promote a high quality company image by demonstrating professionalism to both clients and colleagues.
  • Participate in daily business review meetings, weekly GRC reviews, bi-weekly sales meetings, and other meetings as required by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Recommend improvement of facilities and services as needed.
  • Operational/Functional:

Qualifications and Skills
A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Demonstrable expertise in analysis and action taking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to utilize a computer, printer, telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine, file folders, filing cabinet, and facsimile machine.
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in hotel Sales preferred
  • Hotel and specific market knowledge preferred.
  • Track record of delivering exceptional guest and client experience.
  • Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
