Group Manager - Shipping

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Group Manager - Shipping to join our growing team.

The Opportunity

As a Group Manager - Shipping, you will be part of a professional and close-knit team. You will be responsible for accurate stage, load in sequence, and securing the products, which will result in a smooth production flow. In this role, you will commit to efficient use of resources and meet our customer order requirements. You will report directly to the Customer Service Manager.

This is an onsite role and is based in our Venice, FL facility.

What You Will Do

• Provide solutions to improve the accuracy for our valued customers.
• E nsure all daily planned loads are on time with a focus on Safety and Quality.
• Serve as liaison between the production departments and the scheduling department to troubleshoot missing product and/or research problem tags.
• Monitor production supplies for all departments.
• Supervise and coach a team of 10-15 employees
• Distribute labor within and between production departments to meet daily production requirements.
• Provides leadership and training to accomplish plant/company goals and objectives by JELD-WEN's Mission Statement.
• Verify order paperwork to piece counts of daily loads and perform quality control checks of product before staging for distribution.
• Track and maintain daily production records including units per man-hour.
• Attend daily production meetings.
• Proactively and regularly develops and manages team member's performance and capabilities, based upon company Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
• Assists in the performance evaluations of staff and assists in proactive actions of subordinate personnel on an annual, bi-annual, or on an as needed basis.

Who You Are

• 3-5 years warehouse/manufacturing/production experience preferably in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong organizational skills
• HS Diploma
• Ability to read and write English.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Basic computer skills
