Job Summary:

The Director of Finance plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of the organization. They are responsible for providing strategic financial guidance, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices, and driving financial decision-making to support the organization's overall goals and objectives. The Director of Finance leads a team of finance professionals and collaborates with other departments to achieve financial stability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

- Financial Strategy and Planning:

• Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with executive management to develop and execute financial plans.
• Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement or risk mitigation.
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.

- Communications to Board

• Ability to take hard questions from large, institutional investors that are [considering] investing into the fund
• Comfort in presenting financial information, and update on business operations.

- Financial Reporting and Compliance:

• Monitor internal controls and implement measures to safeguard assets and minimize risks.
• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and budgets.
• Coordinate audits and act as a liaison with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and tax laws.

- Budgeting and Resource Allocation

• Monitor budget variances and provide analysis and recommendations to optimize resource allocation.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads and executives.
• Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Develop financial models to support business cases and investment decisions.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master's degree or CPA qualification is preferred.
