We’re actively seeking an Event Sponsorship Manager to join the Alliances team!
The Event Sponsorship Manager role is a crucial position responsible for overseeing all aspects of our portfolio of in-person events from a sponsor's perspective. They are the sponsor's advocate, champion, and primary contact at the AMA. They serve as a key decision makers on AMA national events and collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless event development for sponsors.
Experience in event management is essential for this role, as it allows the manager to have a comprehensive understanding of the entire event flow, from its inception to execution. We are looking for this individual to consistently be aware of the evolving events landscape in an effort to help sponsorship offerings stay relevant and innovative. We are looking for a proactive problem solver and master communicator!
Event Sponsorship Manager Core Job Responsibilities
- Acts as bridge to other departments within the AMA, particularly our three communities (Academic, Professional and Collegiate), production, and marketing, to ensure that we create an effective and engaging event experience is created for all sponsors
- Work closely with Expo Show Vendors & Hotels to ensure accurate show logistics related to: registration, exhibitor installation plans (ie: exhibitor kits, show move-in/move-out, shipping to and from event, networking times, onsite set-up and tear-down logistics); on site attendance at events is required
- Coordinates post event lead distribution, reporting, and survey management for AMA Events
- Completing other special projects as assigned
- Primary liaison with exhibitors and sponsors for events; ensures they have information necessary for a successful event and manages all vendor related sponsorship deliverables on ama.org, in the mobile app, and on-site; collects all collateral required to promote sponsors and exhibitors on all channels
- Serve as a backup for team's advertising processes and operations
What You Have
- Direct client communications experience
- 3+ years of experience with corporate in-person events, particularly experience with the operational side of events (i.e. stakeholder communication management and event planning)
- A proven successful track record of event planning and client relationship management skills
- Strong organization skills
- Robust understanding of event flow, event sponsorship opportunities, and client management
- Ability to travel up to 15%
What You May Also Have
- Curiosity for how we can grow sponsorship footprints at AMA events
- Experience in project management software (Asana preferred), Google Suite products, and CRM (Salesforce perferred)
