Job Description
Role: Event Specialist
Location: Austin, Texas 78759
Duration: 06+ Months on W2
Shift Timings: 8 AM to 5 PM
100% Remote role but must be flexible to work in all time zones as and when required.
Skills Looking For
Event planning role; Program Specialist/ Logistics specialist.
Doing all logistics for a program that includes communication with the field, communication with the speakers, contracting with restaurants & hotels, arranging venues, air travel, car services, etc.
They have financial responsibility which is the processing of payments and time cards and reporting those for transparency reporting for the US govt.
Program: Supporting educational programs for Heart failures.
Day to Day: Once the Program manager hands it over to the logistics manager, this person is responsible for everything from Contracting if need be with guest speakers hired by Abbott; contracting with venues like booking hotel rooms for a meeting place; this person needs to check if prices, fees are reasonable and fall within guidelines what budget they have. They will do the payments, keep up with the contract, renew them, or negotiate prices; Do room bookings sometimes for overnight stays.
Excellent Time management skills
Participating multi-disciplinary meetings
Team player; Highly detail oriented.
Excellent Communication Skills Are Required.
Previous hires had a teacher and hospitality background and they were outstanding.
People skills are the key here.
Attend meetings every two months in Pleasanton, CA, or Austin, Texas.
Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
At Least 1 to 2 years of experience in customer coordination, logistics, and meeting planning.
