Job Description

The role of Employee Relations Manager is a critical role and connection between the company associates and the company. This role encompasses disputes, resolutions, terminations and investigations. This individual is a neutral role that remains unbiased ensuring that all matters are handled in accordance with our internal policies and local, state and federal regulations.


Responsibilities:

● Acts as an advisor to the business on matters relating to allegations, complaints, and grievances

● Advises leaders on discipline and terminations

● Assists with the process of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) to give guidance to leaders and associates for the opportunity to improve their performance

● Contributes to the discussion around HR Analytics by identifying trends, problems and solutions based on terminations, exits, complaints.

● Manages the online platform for Ethics Point, assigning and responding to cases to seek resolution and analyzes trends emerging from such data to assist with developing proactive solutions

● Identifies risks and challenges to the employee relationship

● Receives, evaluates and responds appropriately to employee concerns

● Develops, implements and updates company policies with regard to employee relations, such as anti-harassment/discrimination policies and social media policies

● Mediates disputes between employees, and between employees and their leaders

● Coaches leaders on handling conduct matters and or complaints

● Conducts employee relations training in partnership with Legal, such as sexual harassment, and discrimination

● Partners with the Benefits Team to navigate personal employee issues and sensitive accommodation requests

● Partners and coordinates with internal and external counsel as needed

● Opines on all terminations and gives guidance, evaluating risks

● Participates in all terminations to ensure proper conduct and communication

● Ensures that legally required federal and state-required forms, notices and posters are maintained

● Communicates and ensures understanding by managers and employees of relevant laws, regulations and organizational policies


Qualifications:

● Finds joy and purpose in supporting fellow employees in difficult co-worker related situations and acts as a support and guide

● Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply current federal, state and local laws relating to employment matters, including regulations or guidance issued by the Department of Labor, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission or other similar agencies.

● Ability to talk to and influence people of all levels and to promote a culture of respect, dignity and inclusion

● Ability to demonstrate objectivity, rationale and critical thinking

● Knowledge of compensation and benefits administration

● Sound judgment and decision making

● Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Law or Business related field

● Experience with Workday, Lattice, and other HR/UX platforms

● 3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources function or capacity

● Experience in travel or hospitality a plus

● Experience in a Google workplace environment a plus

● Demonstrated ability to perform well in a highly dynamic, geographically diverse, and rapidly changing environment
