The Manager, Distribution Center oversees the functions of the distribution center including shipping, receiving, loading, and unloading, picking, and packing, scheduling, inventory control, loss prevention, and budget.
This position will serve our Water Heater Division, located in Laredo, TX.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Ensures the cost-effective and timely distribution of materials.
- Oversees budgets, manpower and maintenance of facility.
- Trains and directs distribution staff.
- Always ensure safety and regulatory compliance at the warehouse.
- Monitor and ensure optimal resources utilization within the distribution center.
- Continually monitor and adjust product pathing for the most efficient picking routes.
- Provides performance feedback, coaching and mentoring.
- Maintain warehousing best practices.
- Coordination of carrier equipment inbound and outbound from warehouse.
- Ensures all warehouse equipment is properly maintained and serviced in accordance with equipment specifications.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- University Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience and minimum 7 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience in a distribution environment.
- Supervisory experience.
- Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others is a matrix team environment.
HOW TO STAND OUT:
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Ability to operate Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Independent thought, good judgment, problem solving skills, and ability to prioritize multiple projects a must.
- Bilingual required English and Spanish
