Playfly Sports Properties, is the exclusive marketing and multi-media rights partner of many of the most prestigious universities, sports leagues and venues in the United States. We are seeking qualified candidates to apply to fill the position of Director/Sr. Director of Multi-Property Sales, for all Playfly Sports Properties.
Position Summary:
The Director/Sr. Director of Multi-Property Sales of our Playfly Sports Properties business is directly focused on developing multi-property partnerships across our portfolio of collegiate and high school MMR partners, as well as our college conference rights in Pac-12, Big Ten, and Big East. This position will focus on client-direct sales efforts to secure multi-year sponsorships and will work collaboratively with Home Team Sports Partnership Development, Media and Playfly
Premier Partnerships sales groups (Playfly Premier is our naming rights company). The incumbent will focus on outward-bound sales efforts to the advertising and sports marketing agency marketplace. This role will be highly collaborative, with high-levels of active communication and collaboration among the internal groups previously named, as well as with property General Managers and Group Vice Presidents who oversee the properties. This person will be an expert in the collegiate and high school MMR space, and will use that expertise both internally and externally to understand and impart understanding of the landscape, marketplace and secure meaningful partnerships. This individual will also manage top-level sponsor relationships, create revenue opportunities, and interface with our various internal sales teams.
During the sales process, this individual will partner, collaborate, ideate, prospect, strategize, target, and execute plans with VP’s of Sales, VP of Creative Partnerships, VP of Partnership Activation, VP of Sales Pricing & Strategy, VP of Sales Insights, and Account Executives, with the sole accountability for new, multi-property revenue generation for Playfly Sports Properties, and achieving overall team, quarterly, and annual budgeting parameters (as assigned by the SVP of Growth & Innovation and Finance Director).
The incumbent will be expected to utilize the latest prospecting tools, research data, market and sports sponsorship industry information (ie: trades, business journals, etc). Additionally, as this role will be a high-visibility position, the incumbent will need superior presentation skills to articulate PSP value proposition, possess a persuasive ability to monetize concepts, and utilize trusting relationships forged with key target brand clients.
Essential Functions:
  • Partners, collaborates, ideates, prospects, strategizes, targets, and executes sales plans with other stakeholders within Playfly with the sole accountability of new, multi-property revenue generation for PSP.
  • Cultivates and manages relationships with brands and develops meaningful strategies to bring in new revenue.
  • This individual will also be responsible for managing PSP sales efforts and achieving budgeted accountabilities for specific multi-property verticals or product categories assigned by the SVP of Growth & Innovation.
  • Utilizes all available systems and reporting tools to ensure transparency and accountability to the SVP of Growth & Innovation.
  • This position is directly responsible for generating new or incremental revenue, with points of contact at client direct or senior levels contact at agencies, articulating and prophesizing the PSP value proposition
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with high level clientele is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Proven track record of innovative strategy development and ad revenue generation and/or support.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in business development in an Advertising Sales capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required (preference in Sports Media, Communications, Marketing or related fields).
  • Superior public speaking and persuasive presentation skills
  • Must have interest and knowledge of the sports industry and sponsorship sports sales
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Revenue Generation systems, Custom Show, Wide Orbit is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with high-level clientele is required
  • Experience in College /High School MMR, Team Sponsorship and Sports Arena Sales is a plus
Compensation includes salary, incentive targets and company benefits.
The pay range for this role is $200,000 to $218,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
