Job Description
Commits to team sales goals and works with individual team members to establish periodic and annual plans for meeting and exceeding goals; Holds recurring meetings with management to review sales targets and progress, discuss successes and generate plans for areas of opportunity. Participates in sales and event activity converting prospects to captive clients through effective presentation and marketing of the facility and event possibilities Generates prospective future clients through nurturing of relationships established with captive clients as well as through involvement in local area networks of professionals, vendors and business sponsors; Maintains past and potential client files. Proactively highlights areas for sales process improvements and works closely with management develop enhancements for fortifying the process and enhancing the sales package. Collects and appropriately responds to customer feedback; Collaborates with the Banquet Manager to ensure every event is staffed for success and runs smoothly and as planned. Coordinates with clients to customize menus, acquire headcounts and ceremony details and other specifics relevant to the venue and type of event including weddings, social gatherings, corporate conferences, and dinners; Ensures all contacts, service agreements, invoices and fees are managed according established company guidelines. Attends food tastings ensuring that interests, capabilities, products and services are appropriately presented and any learnings and ideas are shared with management; Greets guests and helps with parking, entertainment, decorations, audio / visual, etc Responsible for proper set up for events Ensures guest satisfaction by following through with the event. Assures that all venue areas are secure at the end of the business day. Provide potential guest tours and offer suggestions in efforts to sell the merits of the facility for the occasion being planned. Maintain and execute the social media calendar and encourages sales team participation. Calculate and submit quarterly enhancement forms to General Manager Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements


Physical Requirements Of The Director Of Sales Position


A degree in Hospitality or Business Management is an asset but not required. A Secondary Diploma is required. At least 4 years of experience in event planning and/or outside sales or client relationship management with upselling. Previous supervisory experience is required. Knowledge of food and beverage operations and preparation is required. Excellent communication and guest relation skills in English. The ability to work well with a large group of people in a team environment. Must be able to work well in stressful, high pressure situations including the ability to handle guest complaints and disputes and resolve them to satisfactory results. Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure. Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and guests. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, days, weekends and holidays.


Must be able to stand and exert well paced mobility for extended periods of time. Must be able to exert well paced mobility in limited space. Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift up to 50 lbs including, but not limited to, lifting trays of food or food items on a regular and continuing basis. Understand and respond to employee and guest verbal requests and visual cues in a loud and extremely busy environment. A Sales Manager will also assist in the execution of events as need dictates and time allows. All Sales Managers will also be tasked with administrative responsibilities that will vary from week to week.
