Job Description
Interested in driving Spotify’s developer portal philosophy among some of the largest and most advanced tech companies? We in Spotify’s Backstage team are looking for a Customer Success Engineer with a unique balance of technical knowledge, an eye for business, and interpersonal skills to build the area focused on providing expert support to our customers and automating problem-solving.


We’re seeking versatile engineers skilled in web development and customer interaction. Your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain strong relationships with our current customers, ensuring their success and satisfaction with our commercial Backstage products and services. Ideal candidates have a strong background in developer productivity and/or infrastructure, technical consulting, and customer management or similar roles.


Join a high-paced, startup-like team of engineers, marketers, business developers, and product managers to drive an entirely new technology-focused business line and distribution channel. We want someone who’s passionate about that type of environment.


What You'll Do


  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, product, marketing, and engineering, to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any issues or concerns.
  • Conduct product demos, training, and workshops to empower customers in using Backstage
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with current customers, understanding their needs, objectives, and challenges
  • Act as a technical point of contact for customers, providing guidance and support in utilizing Backstage effectively
  • Identify points of friction in the onboarding and adoption experience of Backstage
  • Onboard new customers through the implementation process, ensuring a smooth transition to using Backstage
  • Triage new feature requests, issues, and customer concerns


Who You Are


  • You have an understanding of how developers work and collaborate within an enterprise environment as well as experience with modern web development and infrastructure.
  • Experience developing resources to support a developer platform (i.e. documentation, tutorials, sample apps, API client libraries).
  • Experience working with/contributing to backstage.io is a bonus.
  • React, TypeScript and Node are a part of your tool-belt, knowledge working with GraphQL is a bonus.
  • Excellent communicator with strong focus on customer needs.
  • Experienced in platform diagnosis and trouble-shooting.
  • Having worked in tech consulting and/or customer management.

  • Where in the world? For this role, it can be within East coast Americas in which we have a work location and is within working hours.

The United States base range for this position is $122,716-$175,308, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays. These ranges may be modified in the future.
