Associate Buyer Jobs

POSITION SUMMARY: The Associate Buyer will partner with the Global Buying Director in managing the Direct-to-Consumer business for all product categories through analyzing inventory and sales by location, understanding global market needs, and assisting with market prep and product assortment. The Associate Buyer will also be responsible for assisting the Global Buying Director with division and product level reporting, liaising with cross-functional teams in support of seasonal brand and commercial objectives.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Business Management

• Monitor and understand daily / weekly business opportunities and challenges by market, inform and recommend next steps to Global Buying Director
• Maintain regular communication with stores to better understand market needs
• Stock balancing / inter-store and warehouse transfers
• Conduct morning business meetings and trainings in stores/virtually
• Develop partnerships with internal departments: Wholesale, Merchandising, E-commerce, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Operations and Logistics

Reporting & Analysis

• Weekly, monthly, sales and inventory reporting (KPI and attribute reports)
• Stock to sales by location, by season, by classification
• Ad hoc reports
• Market Prep and OTB support

Buy Support (4 markets per year)

• Buy preparation and support during buying session: run and reference selling history, prior season orders and stock to sales; analyze current business trends
• Maintain management of daily business during market

POSITION SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 - 5 years in a buying or merchandising related job
• Ability to multi-task
• Team player
• Passion for the industry
• “Big” idea mentality
• Minimum Education: 4 Year college degree
• Strong initiative, desire and ability to drive results
• Strong understanding of retail math (stock to sales, sell-through etc.)
• Communication skills
• Selection ability/ strong taste level
• Knowledge of competitive landscape
• Experience in assisting with the development and execution of merchandising strategies a plus
• Public speaking skills
• Strong analytical and strategic skillset
• Attention to detail and organized
• Proactive vs. reactive approach
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills to drive teams to execution

In compliance with the New York City salary transparency requirements, the potential salary for this position is from $70,000 to $80,000, which represents a range commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills required.
