Manager Project Management - Solar

Our client, a global provider of Power & Industrial equipment & services is seeking a Manager, Project Management for their Solar Construction division.

This will manage a team of Construction Project Managers and will help to develop further process and procedure within the Project Management group.

This is a remote / work from home position with project travel as needed.

Candidates must have a Renewable Construction Project Management background with preference being Solar, Energy Storage, etc.

The Manager, Project Management plays a critical role in advancing the capabilities and effectiveness of project management activities. Responsibility to drive project results including project execution, project controls, and manufacturing support. The role provides the overall leadership and strategy to the team of project managers executing projects globally; including the project controls team. Oversee the guiding of critical path/activities, risks, contingencies and alternatives and oversight of the project management team and their activities including development of milestones, budgets, communication plans, reporting, resource plan development and project close out activities.

• These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
• Lead the ongoing development of the project management organization, including implementing improved processes, identification of training needs, and execution of training to ensure overall organizational capabilities improve resulting in higher quality and more consistent project outcomes.
• Oversee cost structures, scope of project changes, material tracking, and other activities relative to projects schedules.
• Manage a large, diverse team of local and remote employees. Work cohesively and collaboratively with various departments within the company.
• Establishes and maintains excellent working relationships and partnerships with all project stakeholders.
• Track and hold project managers accountable for project status including procurement activities, current and forecasted costs, project schedules, cash flow projections, project completion percentage and risks. Ensure project managers take appropriate action when required.
• Improving the overall operation of the organization through identification and implementation of improved work systems. Audits group procedures and performance to identify and implement improvements in processes, resulting in increased efficiency and productivity.
• Responsible for day to day leadership and development of the project management and project controls teams, including monitoring action plans and performance toward achieving key performance indicators, while following all policies and procedures.
• Provide efficiencies in the project management process by ensuring projects follow established processes.

Qualifications

• MBA preferred
• Strong communication, business process, and presentation skills. Transformational leader with change management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
• Demonstrated experience running successful projects and those that were challenged.
• Demonstrate excellent time management and organization skills, with the ability to lead and influence at all levels of an organization. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in order to meet daily, weekly, and long-term requirements and goals.
• 10+ years of related experience in project execution
• Demonstrates the ability to organize and influence people to believe in a vision while creating a sense of purpose and direction.
• Must be able to understand the uniqueness and contributions of others.
• Demonstrates safety leadership through a focus on Target Zero.
• PMP certification from the Project Management Institute
• Excellent creative and strategic thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to complex problems that may not have a clear answer.
• 5+ years of direct industrial and/or construction project management experience
• Experience developing key performance indicators to help manage teams and hold team members accountable to results.
