The Opportunity
The Social Media, Consultant will be responsible for developing channel plans and strategies, as well as publishing social-first content to engage our audiences, including our current customers, prospects, as well as our employees, financial professionals, distributors, and producers. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of social media experience, including developing data-driven social media recommendations, and creating social content for both consumer and B2B audiences. The Social Media, Consultant will be passionate about all things social, be well-versed in channel best practices, and have a point of view on social networks (think Twitter and TikTok).
As a Social Media, Consultant you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and growing MassMutual’s social media channels while interacting with our audience of customers, employees, advisors, and producers through proactive and reactive engagement. In addition, you will be responsible for producing larger social engagements, like employee advocacy programs, social listening dashboards, multi-part video series, and/or new channel launches. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in social media, including hands-on tactical engagement and expertise in social analytics. The Community Manager will be passionate about the digital and social media space, with a point of view on various social networks, best practices, and favorite marketing campaigns.
The Team
The Customer & Engagement Team at MassMutual is located in the innovation hub of Boston – The Seaport District. Within the Customer & Engagement Team sits Search and Social, a digital first group responsible for brand and business unit channel marketing. We’re a smallish team, so it’s exciting and unusual that we have open positions. Our team operates on a hybrid work schedule, with 2-3 days per week spent in the office and the rest of the time working remotely.
The Impact:
The Social Media, Consultant will:
- Help develop and maintain a consistent tone of voice for the brand online and lead employee advocacy efforts
- Provide forward-thinking recommendations to test new opportunities on social
- Send weekly social listening reports with insights to help improve our digital content
- Develop key metrics to measure campaign success, and partner with brand measurement/analytics
- Publish content across MassMutual’s social channels, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube
- Monitor, moderate, and engage with our audience(s) and escalate any issues, as needed
- Propose and develop larger social initiatives, including video content and channel strategies
- Identify innovative opportunities on new or existing channels to grow our presence and continue to reach new consumers.
- Work with other teams to develop social content, including internal business partners and our in-house creative team, as well as third-party agencies
The Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient knowledge working with third-party social media management tools such as Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Hootsuite, etc.
- 4+ years in a full-time social media position for a brand or digital/PR/marketing agency
- Bachelor’s degree in writing, communication, journalism, marketing, PR, or a similar field
- 1+ year experience Understanding of social media analytics, KPIs, and reporting
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- 4+ years experience of social media best practices
- 4+ years' experience managing multiple social media channels
The Ideal Qualifications
- Content creation experience across media, including copywriting, as well as image and video editing
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Sprinklr is a bonus.
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment
- Expert Knowledge of popular and current social media channels and a desire to keep up to date on the latest trends and new products
- Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) or other related digital marketing disciplines
- Understanding of paid social media advertising including previous campaign management experience
- Incredible attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Excellent critical thinking and judgment
- Excellent written communications skills
The Location:
Boston, MA (Hybrid)
We are hiring for our Boston, MA office location in a Hybrid setting where you will be onsite 2-3 days per week
