Description


The Commerce & Partnerships Coordinator works with McClatchy’s various team members to support projects, partner and potential partner activities with the ultimate goal of supporting McClatchy’s growth of digital revenues and profits through commerce content, partnerships and acquisitions. Supports the coordination needs of Business Development, Commerce Content Production and M&A teams. Interacts with internal McClatchy News, Audience, Technology, Product, Vendor Management & Risk and Operations teams to represent and follow through on needs and actions for the Partnerships and Corporate Development teams.


The anticipated base pay range for this position is between $60,000 and $80,000 annually. Individual base pay may vary within that range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, department equity, training, geography, and local wage and hours laws.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities


  • Coordinate with Content Production team with their needs in getting content on McClatchy’s digital ecosystem
  • Work on other duties and projects, as assigned.
  • Ensure monthly invoices are processed on a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure commerce content partners and freelancers have the proper system access and reports they need to perform their obligations to McClatchy
  • Work with Vendor Management & Risk team to ensure contracts are reviewed on a timely and effective manner
  • As necessary, when other team members are not available to do so, coordinate meetings, take notes ‘and represent the team’s needs and obligations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate development action items and follow up with Technology and Product teams
  • Deliver departmental performance reports to appropriate leaders and recommend any observations for improvements
  • Ensure departmental revenues and expenses are tracked properly after proper review/oversight by management
  • Review partner dashboards on a periodic basis and quality check for mistakes, potential fraud
  • Ensure McClatchy fulfills action items signed up with partners


Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities


  • Strong problem-solving, and team player skill
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills is a must. Internally and externally
  • Must be able to work remotely while contributing to a team environment
  • Business acumen
  • Ability to work well, be professional and courteous with a variety of stakeholders, external and internal
  • Ability to prioritize and to work under and meet short- and long-deadlines in a fast-paced, data-driven work environment
  • Prior work experience in a digital business is mandatory, where part of the revenues are driven from websites either through content, commerce or selling services.
  • Prior project management or product management experience is a plus
  • Ability to work independently
  • An understanding of audience trends and digital media


Education And Experience


  • Project management or Product management certification is a plus
  • 2 year experience in digital business
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university or the equivalent education
