Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Specialist to join our team in the Houston area, focusing on expanding our presence and driving growth within the Marine Construction and Marine Terminal market on Texas Gulf Coast. As a Business Development Specialist, you will play a crucial role in identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with clients, and driving revenue growth. This position operates on a commissioned base pay system, incentivizing success and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, potential clients, and emerging opportunities within the Marine Construction and Marine Terminal sector.
- Analyze competitive landscape to develop a clear understanding of competitors' strengths and weaknesses.
2. New Business Identification:
- Identify and target potential clients within the Marine Construction and Marine Terminal market.
- Develop a strategic approach to prospecting, utilizing various channels such as industry events, trade shows, online platforms, and referrals.
3. Relationship Building:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within target clients' organizations.
- Understand clients' needs, pain points, and objectives to effectively position our services and solutions.
4. Solution Presentation and Proposal:
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions that address clients' specific challenges and requirements.

5. Negotiation and Deal Closure:
- Lead negotiations with clients to establish mutually beneficial terms and conditions.
- Work closely with legal and executive teams to finalize contracts and agreements.
6. Revenue Generation:
- Drive revenue growth by meeting and exceeding sales targets and objectives.
- Continuously monitor and track progress toward sales goals, adjusting strategies as needed.
7. Market Intelligence:
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements related to Marine Construction and Marine Terminal operations.
- Leverage market intelligence to identify new avenues for business development.
8. Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, prospect interactions, and deal statuses in CRM systems.
- Generate regular reports for management on sales performance and pipeline status.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or very experienced (verifiable) in the Houston and surrounding areas.
- Proven track record of successful business development and sales within the Marine Construction and Marine Terminal industry.
- Deep understanding of marine infrastructure, terminal operations, and related services.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.

Compensation:
This position operates on a commissioned base pay system, ensuring that compensation is directly tied to performance and successful business development efforts. In addition to the commissioned base pay, we offer competitive benefits and incentives.
Location:
The role is based in the Houston area, with occasional travel required within the region and potentially beyond. Our office is located in San Leon, TX.
