Job Description
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for driving sales of Moody’s Analytics products to new customers for their initial use. Key activities include initiating sales activity with new-to-company prospects through lead research and qualification. Using a consultative sales approach, you will identify and develop a good understanding of the clients’ business needs and deliver an value proposition of Moody’s Analytics that satisfy those needs. You will be responsible for managing the complete sales cycle from start to finish and based on the complexity of the opportunity, you may engage sales specialists to facilitate the sales process.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide current forecasts and pipeline information to management.
  • Coordinate Moody's Analytics responses to requests for product and services information from prospects and clients.
  • Assess the needs of the client by gaining an understanding of the challenges they face based on their business objectives and position relevant Moody’s Analytics use cases
  • Represent company at industry and company sponsored events, as required.
  • Establish Moody’s Analytics presence with new-to-company prospects with the goal to land our initial solution at these accounts.
  • Work with sales colleagues to drive the sales process from beginning to end by identifying and qualifying prospects, initiating new sales activity, and managing sales cycles to closure. Typical contacts include single-use buying influencers.
  • Position requires travel (approximately 20% to 40% of your time)
  • Manage a wide sales territory of new-to-Moody’s prospects. Build and execute on territory-based campaigns to meet or exceed annual sales goals.
  • Execute against territory-based campaign plans to generate sales from new customers.
  • Willingness to create high-volume and quality client interactions/connects by making daily sales calls, networking, building relationships and identifying sales opportunities
  • 2+ years’ experience working in direct business-to-business sales roles with a focus on solutions selling
  • Fundamental understanding of industry dynamics and how clients interact with the products/services
  • Ability to lead standard sales cycles to successful conclusion.
  • Undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor’s degree) required, with coursework in business, economics, finance, marketing or related fields.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, with focus and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to present high-level information as well as detailed demonstrations of products & services.
  • Ability to design and articulate a proposition for the customer and win/close business
  • Experience with sales enablement tools (Salesforce, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, SalesLoft, etc.) to create professional, tailored prospecting strategies

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $113,800 to $165,100, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
