IT Business Systems Analyst needed for a hybrid role (3 days a week) to downtown NYC

P&C insurance experience is required as well as IT SDLC experience

This is a FT staff role offering base salary plus bonus and benefits

The IT Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is responsible for translating business requirements into technical requirements, working closely with business teams, IT solutions architects as well as IT delivery teams to design, develop, and deploy technology solutions focused on delivering business value. The BSA can wear many hats on projects and is responsible for everything from requirements gathering, leading project/scrum calls, testing, training, and post-deployment support. They partner with business product owners, technology teams and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and develop backlogs based on features and user stories.

• Experience with MS Power Platform (PowerApps, PowerBI, Power Automate) preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with one or more delivery frameworks, including Agile (User Stories), Waterfall (requirements documentation), Kanban, and/or others.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to synthesize complicated requirements in a straight-forward and logical manner for technical team members to build.
• Insurance experience required, P&C Insurance Industry background preferred.
• Experience conducting Project calls, Scrum calls, preparing the weekly status reports, dashboards.
• Attention to detail, inquisitive nature, self-starter, willingness to ask questions and engage in conversations with business stakeholders of various seniority levels.
• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills. Abstract systems design, ability to understand the intersection of systems and operational usage of the system.
• MS Office experience required specific to PowerPoint presentations, and Excel experience - data feed/manipulation (PIVOT/VLOOKUP/Formulas) skills
• Qualifications 3-5 years prior experience in an IT business and/or systems analyst role preferred. Other prior IT roles such as developer, QA, UI design or business experience would be considered too.
• Excellent documentation skills and experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.

Job Duties

Work with end-users to gather, understand, and define business requirements

• Collaborate in hand-over to production support teams. Be an escalation path for production support questions or issues.
• Conduct requirements gathering sessions with product owners and present requirements to technical team members. Follow up on questions to refine or clarify requirements.
• Assist in training end users on technical solutions and providing post-production warranty support to end users.
• Work collaboratively with team members to design a solution that will meet business requirements and fulfill user stories
• Ensure technical solutions meet business needs and requirements.
• Develop user stories and to-be process flows to support the design and development of technology solutions
• Collaborate with developers to test and verify that solutions will meet the business requirements
• Assist in user acceptance testing; creation and execution of test scenarios.
• Assist in testing (QA/UAT).
• Assist in prioritization of features based on business needs and complexity.
