GOALS
This position is responsible for helping to further the strategic advancement of Clinical Site Startup &Engagement (CSSE) through innovation and excellence. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • Support the the Head of CSSE Business Process Excellence & Delivery, collaborating directly with CSSE Functional Heads, and cross-functional key stakeholders to support the strategic direction of CSSE, assisting on high-impact, high-priority projects and overseeing department-wide initiatives.
  • Participate in global initiatives representing CSSE and Study Optimization in support of Takeda R&D objectives.
  • Support key initiatives that have cross-functional impact and that are critical to CSSE’s and GDO’s business objectives.
  • Work directly with the Head of CSSE Business Process Excellence & Delivery, leading efforts to implement innovative processes, trainings, data and technologies that will ensure ongoing delivery of valued Clinical Site Startup & Engagement deliverables.
  • Create, execute and manage CSSE’s communications strategy.
  • Represent CSSE at operations forums to share CSSE’s priorities and identify best practices and opportunities for collaboration with similar capabilities in other functions.
Accountabilities
  • Oversee and contribute to the development/maintenance of the CSSE on-boarding training and playbook.
  • Support CSSE business operations, including tracking and following-up on CSSE staff compliance with all applicable Takeda SOPs, in collaboration with the central Process, Training, and Compliance function.
  • Maintain guidance documents pertaining to CSSE’s ways of working, including relevant Takeda clinical development processes.
  • Assign and track responsible CSSE resources supporting transformational project/initiatives relative to overall priorities to maintain transparency to CSSE Leadership.
  • Organize CSSE Townhall, Leadership Team and any critical portfolio management review meetings as needed. Ensure facts and details are documented for reference and updated regularly for accuracy.
  • Support CSSE initiatives to develop and/or update innovative processes and technologies to advance clinical site startup and reduce critical milestone cycle timelines.
  • Point of contact for questions and best practices; internal team interface communicating changes and updates as needed.
  • Superuser to manage and maintain CSSE’s SharePoint space on Takeda’s internal system.
  • Support business processes optimization by identifying opportunities for enhancements of core capabilities within CSSE, including process improvements and facilitating best practice sessions.
  • Central planning and organization of onboarding orientation sessions for new CSSE hires; maintain CSSE New Hire Checklist.
  • Support Global Development Office strategic initiatives and processes by representing CSSE on cross-functional teams.
  • Support development and deliver clear, consistent and documented training.
Education And Experience
  • Strong strategic thinking, planning, execution, and communication skills.
  • Health care business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • 8 or more years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or clinical research organization, with deep understanding of clinical development practices.
  • Global/international experience required, including ability to collaborate with colleagues and staff in other locations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or international equivalent required; Life Sciences preferred. Advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge or FDA and ICH-GCP guidelines for conducting clinical research.
  • Proven track record of leading and driving business process transformation and organizational culture change as well as delivering on programs with complex business deliverables.
  • Experience in people leadership, managing global teams, change management and coordinating collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • 8 or more years of direct operational experience in pharmaceutical drug development with direct exposure to clinical development (i.e., study management, study startup, country and site feasibility) in a highly matrix organization across multiple regions.
What Takeda Can Offer You
  • Base Salary Range $143,500 - $205,000. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
  • The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
