The Vice President of Operations and Maintenance will lead the ENGIE North American Renewables Operations and Maintenance organization’s focus on ENGIE’s on-shore wind, solar and battery storage assets. Responsibilities include leadership of safety, field operations, technical services and market and regulatory compliance. This position will report directly to the Chief Renewables Officer. An ideal candidate will reside in or near either the Houston, Tx, Broomfield, CO, or Chicago, IL ENGIE office.

What you’ll do:
- Coordination with the Business Development and Construction teams on lessons learned, establishing operational budgets, availability targets, and OEM qualification during the early development phase.
- Empowers all employees with Stop Work Authority for safety-related issues.
- Coordinates and participates with ENGIE’s global Operations & Maintenance community to develop standards, share best practices and lessons learned.
- Establishes and promotes a safety-minded working environment and safety culture consistent with ENGIE NA H&S principles, OSHA, and best practices.
- Responsible for the overall renewable fleet performance, including the resolution of operational issues.
- Active participation in ENGIE’s North American Renewables Leadership Team.
- Carries out other duties as assigned
- Responsible for ensuring that the operating portfolio is in compliance with all company policies, procedures, regulations (including FERC/NERC), power purchase agreements, financing partner requirements and generally accepted operating practices.
- Establish an organization focused on performance, continuous improvement, and accountability with a focus on safety, quality, cost, and performance.
- Develop annual budgets and objectives, for approval, and monitor performance for ENGIE’s NA Operations & Maintenance organization.
- Leads the overall safety organization, which also establishes the safety program for ENGIE NA’s construction teams.
- Establishes standards for the Operations & Maintenance team in regard to safety, quality, work procedures, reporting, etc., in line with ENGIE’s global O&M community.
- Coordination with the Commercial Operations team to enhance communications, the financial performance of assets and meet financing partner requirements.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree, Engineering, or related business acumen preferred
- In-depth knowledge of wind and solar power generating facilities, equipment, and technologies
- Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license
- Minimum fifteen (15) years experience with demonstrated leadership and management of staff focused on Renewable Energy Operations and Maintenance
- Experience with Operations, Maintenance, Dispatch and Optimization of Wind and Solar Assets, BESS a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel as required including internationally (sometimes to remote locations/sites)
- Proficiency with personal computer applications, in particular, operational and financial modeling and budgeting
- Advanced decision-making and organizational experience with leadership, management and communication skills.
- Advance experience in problem solving, organization and prioritizing in developing a workforce, planning budgets, and communications with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Experience with negotiation with both internal and external vendors, staff and partners
