Role Background
As a member of PGIM’s global communications team, and as a part of Prudential Financial’s Communications organization, this role will be responsible for leading PGIM’s corporate and employee communications, working to promote and protect PGIM’s reputation across global markets, engage employees and prospective talent, and bring the PGIM narrative to life both inside and outside the firm.
Reporting to the Vice President, Head of PGIM Communications, this senior communications professional will be responsible for leading a team in the development and implementation of global communications strategies which span employee engagement, talent brand, DE&I, and corporate reputation management.
This work is both internal and external and includes leading in the development of communications campaigns which drive employee engagement with and understanding of PGIM’s business strategy and talent brand via across channels and platforms.
This person will leverage their leadership skills and executive presence to partner closely with senior leaders to develop communications plans and provide strategic counsel on critical issues. They will leverage data and insights to drive strategy and measure performance. As needed, they will collaborate with communications colleagues in the development of strategies which support global business growth, including M&A, reputation management, and change communications.
This person will be responsible for the talent management of a team of enthusiastic communicators and must be comfortable coaching, providing feedback and managing workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communications strategies on behalf of PGIM and in coordination with Prudential stakeholders, which enhance understanding of PGIM’s business strategy and results among key stakeholders internally and externally.
- Support the growing need for internal communications and employee engagement efforts on behalf of the PGIM businesses.
- Cultivate stakeholder relationships across functional areas, identifying key areas of opportunity where communications can support business objectives.
- Manage strategic external communications planning and earned media campaigns for PGIM’s global ESG Office, global DEI Office, and talent marketing.
- Identify and leverage macro trends to inform and position appropriate business narratives and creates multi-layered communications plans to amplify these narratives across the right mix of traditional, social, digital, and earned media.
- Orchestrate employee events in coordination with PGIM HR, Executive Office, and supported by creative and content resources within Prudential Communications.
- Builds relationships with external influencers. Serves as a spokesperson as needed.
- Manage complex communications initiatives that intersect talent, employee engagement, culture, and corporate responsibility.
- Manage and direct relationships with PR agency resources.
- Advise leaders on corporate positioning and issues messaging and shareable content assets.
- Partner with Asia Pacific and EMEA communications colleagues to shape and implement communications strategy in priority markets.
- Provide insight and guidance on critical internal communications content around issues including but not limited to; hybrid work, DEI, ESG, transformation, innovation initiatives, etc.
- Track and report out key metrics, demonstrating the value communications provides in support of business objectives.
- Identify and leverage macro trends to inform and position appropriate business narratives and create communications plans to amplify these narratives.
- Plan and execute crisis communication strategies for the businesses as needed.
- Translate content outputs and plans to incorporate internal communications strategies, where appropriate.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Creative with resources both internal and external
- Impeccable writing and editing skills
- 15+ years of communications experience; a mix of corporate and agency backgrounds beneficial.
- Enjoys a collaborative work environment but also able to work independently
- Proven ability to partner and deliver strategic business value
- Understanding of how to operate within complex organizations of scale
- Executive presence; comfortable providing strategic counsel to senior executives and business heads
- Strong news judgement
- Ability to drive processes, integrate concepts and lead through influence
- International experience a plus.
- Entrepreneurial and action-oriented
- Strong project management skills
- Comprehensive understanding of asset management and/or financial services
- Bachelor’s degree in any field of academic rigor, advanced degree a plus
- Ability to find levity in a professional setting
- Global worldview, knowledge of geopolitical and macroeconomic forces

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $175,500.00 to $237,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
