As the Vice President, Head of Workspace Engineering for Communications and Time Management (CTM), you will lead an organization of Googlers, with direct management of key engineering leads for individual products, across multiple global sites. You will be a highly technical engineer who has the depth and breadth of experience of building high-performing products. You will make technical decisions, build credibility with engineers, and lead technical reviews and discussions, and dive into details. You will understand the needs of our customers and define a strategic direction alongside Product Management counterparts.

In this role, you will be responsible and accountable for ongoing development and milestones as defined in objectives and key results (OKRs), key customer commitments, and direct interaction with product, customer engineers, and field teams. You will collaborate closely with engineering and cross-functional teams (e.g., Product Management, User Experience, Customer Support, Sales, and Marketing) across Workspace and Google. You will also develop a diverse and inclusive organization. You will focus on attracting and developing talent by actively engaging in career planning for engineers on the teams.

The US base salary for this full-time position is $550,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

• Build engineering teams, work with engineering Directors to guide technical direction, and work with product management to define overall vertical strategy.
• Lead the strategy and development of Gmail, Chat, Calendar, Tasks, and Groups products in Workspace which are focused on communication and time management.
• Work with customers, product managers, solutions architects, and Go-To-Market (GTM) colleagues to understand customers' use cases, and translate them into excellent technical designs and implementations.
