Role: Director of Sales and Education
Reporting to the US GM, the VP of Sales and Education will be responsible for establishing and executing the sales and education vision, strategy, and plan in order to deliver high growth in the wholesale channel while protecting the brand’s premium professional positioning. This leader is responsible for the full P&L for this channel, with an emphasis on organizational optimization, building partnerships, and driving a high-performing team.
Overseeing a growing team of 20+ people, this role will require great leadership skills, balancing how to mentor, motivate, and continue building the teams to achieve goals.
The ideal candidate is an energetic catalyst for change, equally talented at working with numbers and people, with a history of building profitable business growth, developing strong partnerships externally and internally and nurturing teams in transformational times.
Roles and responsibilities
Strategy and execution
·Provide strategic business direction, develop sales objectives, identify new market/channel opportunities
·Create market strategies by channel and territory, establish monthly KPIs by client, assess achievement and put plans in action to meet targets, leveraging both sell- in and sell- out drivers
·Develop strong, long-lasting relationships with wholesale partners, coordinating strategic top to tops to fully understand their business objectives and drive optimal results
·Develop and communicate clear guidelines for new business acquisition.
·Generate new revenue by selectively scouting and securing new business while protecting brand image and DNA
·Provide hands-on management of key accounts as needed.
·Develop an omnichannel brand vision in partnership with the global brand team.
·Maintain high level of industry knowledge, best practices and developments within our target markets and analyze trends and data to make recommendations for improving results.
·Help ensure client compliance across visual merchandising, promotions, social, marketing, events, digital ect
·Ensure a strong knowledge of our product and treatment portfolio and clearly promote our brand values
·Prepare and present strategy, results and action plan in monthly US Board meeting
Education
·Align appropriate training and education plan to business priorities.
·Optimize education organization and streamline training processes.
·Foster great relationships and communication between Sales and Education teams
·Create and deliver compelling, customized sales and education materials that address core business needs and opportunities for existing and prospective clients.
·Strategize and ensure excellence in execution and best in class training within all programs and initiatives.
·Stay current with technology and digital trends within the cosmetic education environment.
Team
·Develop, manage, coach, and motivate a high performing organization.
·Create a culture of success, mentorship, accountability, and goal achievement.
·Define roles and responsibilities, optimal team structure, set performance and development goals, motivate, coach and retain team
·Lead, mentor and develop team to deliver goals and budgets in addition to fostering relationships with their clients.
·Handle any disputes and communication, both internally and externally
Communication
·Create strong relationships with cross functional leaders (Ecommerce, Marketing, Finance, HR) and Global partners
·Effectively communicate feedback, insights and competitive activity to local and global marketing, retail and education.
·Collaborate with marketing to develop effective client support as well as trade shows and event support.
·Partners with IT team to ensure support of clients tools/machines
·Partner with marketing/planning to develop proper assortment, SKU plan, category expansion opportunities.
·Collaborate with GM & Finance team on wholesale pricing, profit margin and optimizing net profit
·Partner with planning team to provide sales forecasts to support inventory planning.
Operations/Budget planning
·Oversee and manage channel budget and full P&L.
·Build the annual wholesale marketing budget with marketing team.
·Work with HR on team compensation and bonus incentive plans, and recruiting needs.
·Identify resources needs and develop business cases to support the changes required to support business growth

Ideal Background
·15+ years of experience in business development and sales leadership role with P&L responsibility and a proven track record of growth.
·Experience in a wholesale professional beauty organization, especially luxury
·Experience in leading a skincare education team/incentive
·Bachelors in Business Management, Master’s degree in business administration is preferred.
·Able to travel 40%+ annually, including internationally.
·Excellent proficiency within Microsoft Office and GSuite
·Excellent proficiency within CRM System (Salesforce experience preferred)
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to flex own style as needed to influence and drive results.
·Strong public speaking skills and seminar/events showmanship
·Strong analytical, strategic thinking and critical thinking skills with a solution orientated mindset
·Strong organizational & project management skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities.
·Strong negotiation skills, confident to handle complex negotiations directly as well as support and coach team through various negotiations opportunities
