Vice President Of Global Operations

CamelBak is looking for a Vice President, Global Operations to join their talented team. In this role, you will develop and lead the implementation of a best in class, globally competitive supply chain strategy. You will be responsible for the strategy, budget, resource planning and senior level leadership of all Operations functions for CamelBak including manufacturing, global planning, quality, sourcing, and logistics. This role sits on the CamelBak Senior Leadership team and will be a key contributor to the ongoing development of business level growth and performance strategies and overall enterprise-wide leadership. The desired candidate will have a track record of successfully developing and managing a global sourcing and supply chain network designed to drive speed, cost, and quality.

This position reports to the President and is based out of our Petaluma, CA office.

As the Vice President of Global Operations, you will have an opportunity to:

• Help lead the effective implementation and ongoing execution of Logility planning system.
• Lead the execution of global demand planning, supply planning strategies to ensure alignment of customer demand and production capacity. This includes the review and oversight of the forecasting and supply processes to support short/long term capacity requirements.
• Responsible for Global Sourcing team including sourced finished goods supply base in addition to second and third tier supply network that supports vertical manufacturing.
• Establish and lead best in class sourcing and supplier development programs to ensure the meeting of prescribed quality standards at optimal pricing with on-time delivery. This includes programs for supplier assessment, selection, collaboration, and development.
• Guide the development and continuous improvement of a robust S&OP process. Support the leadership of and accountability for the execution of the S&OP process.
• Establish and improve upon inventory management programs inclusive of lead-time reduction initiatives and improved forecasting processes. Ensure data integrity for accuracy of reporting.
• Provide ongoing strategic direction aimed at continuous improvement of quality, lead time reduction, and cost improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement activities to reduce freight and other costs as a percentage of sales. Includes use of modeling tools and analysis to determine optimal scenarios.
• Customer first mentality in approach to organization design, resource prioritization, and delivery of performance metrics.
• Continuous development of manufacturing strategy to optimize footprint and overhead costs.
• Through leadership of the Customer Service Team, support CamelBak’s customers, manage orders through the system, ensure customer compliance requirements are understood and implemented, including inventory availability, routing requirements, EDI processing and SMU-specific strategies.
• Provide strategic leadership in developing a scalable Consumer Services team designed to provide best in class service for growing DTC business. Including timely and responsive order management and warranty claim administration.
• Direct line responsibility for CamelBak’s vertically integrated hydration reservoir manufacturing facility located in Tijuana, Mexico.
• Responsible for evolving overall Operations strategy that enables the CamelBak business to grow and scale profitably while improving costs and speed to market.
• Establish and maintain processes to connect the Planning, Sourcing and Product Operations to seamlessly manage the on-time delivery of the demand forecast for existing and new products.
• Ability to create and communicate a clear strategic vision for Operations linked to the defined needs of the business. Track record for designing, building and performance managing organizations in support of stated business strategies.
• Provide leadership in developing and executing ongoing supplier productivity programs to deliver annual cost reductions across the finished goods and component supply base.
• Responsible for the Global Planning function including both Demand, Supply, and Inventory management.
• Lead the Product Operations department, which is responsible for working directly with manufacturing and suppliers to effectively manage capacity planning and timely delivery of both the existing product portfolio and new product launches while maintaining required quality and cost.
• Create and provide business processes and systems that ensure alignment between Product Management, Planning, and Rand D to deliver products on time consistently

You have:

• Experience developing supply solutions for sales channels similar to CamelBak’s utilizing in-house manufacturing and global subcontract manufacturers is essential for this position.
• Experience managing Asia based suppliers.
• ERP & Advanced Planning Systems experience with a strong preference for Oracle ERB 12.1.
• 5+ years of overseeing a global sourcing team is strongly preferred.
• Ability to lead work initiatives effectively across a broad range of cross functional groups teams is required.
• Bachelor’s degree is required. A focused degree in Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred.
• A track record of transforming demand, supply, and financial planning processes at a company into a cohesive, efficient, and reliable process.
• A deep understanding of lean principle of manufacturing, purchasing, distribution, customer services, financial forecasting, marketing, trade promotion planning, and new product planning is essential.
• 10+ years of professional working experience in a consumer products industry is required.
• Experience implementing improvements that drive business simplification through process control and workflow management.
• Experience with Logility demand and supply planning or a similar tool is strongly preferred.
• Analytical thinking and a deep understand of the strengths and weaknesses of forecasting models is essential.
