Summary, Primary Duties, Skills And Experience

Job Summary:

Bionano Genomics is looking for a candidate to join Bionano's senior leadership, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for overseeing Bionano's manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, logistics, and facilities. This is an opportunity for a seasoned hands-on operations leader in a high-growth life science company whose mission is to improve global wellness. This is a full-time position located in our San Diego headquarters, with key suppliers and distribution centers located globally.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create a strategy, release formal processes and execute in establishing best-in-class manufacturing, supply chain and logistics.
• Manage critical safety stock inventory for all products to ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Oversee management of Bionano's facilities.
• Scale Bionano's manufacturing, supply chain and logistics activities to keep pace with commercial demand.
• Establish a strategy for and manage global inventory and distribution locations to ensure timely delivery of Bionano products worldwide.
• Work with the executive team on strategic projects aimed at opening new markets.
• Create strong relationships with key suppliers, including creating formal agreements, holding business reviews, and managing quality issues and supply chain constraints.
• Focus on quality, efficiency and responsiveness of all operations activities while scaling volume.

Skills and Education:

Minimum Skills Required:

• Strong communications skills; oral, written, electronic and presentation.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or the sciences.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Core competency in using data driven metrics to improve production and quality targets.
• 10+ years' experience in operations leadership within the life science industry.
• Experience in manufacturing reagents, consumables, and highly complex instruments.
• Track record of rapidly scaling operations.
• Strong technical/leadership skills, decisive, determined, strategic and able to lead, motivate and inspire others.
• Must be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
