VP Business Development

Location: NYC Plus Travel

Package: $225k Base plus 50% Bonus and Equity


The Organisation


Our client is a dynamic distributed energy provider servicing C&I asset owners across North America. They provide renewable energy and charging infrastructure solutions.

They are an incredibly exciting start up with the JV backing of two exceptionally high-quality sponsors. With an existing client base of some of the largest and most innovative real estate portfolio owners in the world they have the base to achieve significant scale and fast.

Targets of over 1GW of install backed by a $1Bn capital plan makes this an incredible time to join the business.


The Role


The Vice President of BD will primarily focus on client facing business development activities to increase the company’s opportunity pipeline. The position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.



Responsibilities will include:


  • Meet or exceed individual and company sales plan targets for revenue in key applications in Lighting, Solar, EV Charging, Storage, and Geothermal activity.
  • Meet with Chief Executive Officer on a weekly basis to review pipeline, client activities and results of prospecting goals for the month.
  • Work with the company’s product support and analysts to tailor proposals to exceed client expectations for financial, operational, and sustainability objectives on projects.
  • Identify and leverage channel partners to extend reach and breadth of pipeline opportunities.
  • Identify and create opportunities by leveraging their network of existing clients and relationships in the market.


Education and Experience:


  • Successful approach to client relationship management
  • MBA preferred, but not required
  • 5-10 years’ experience in client facing roles in energy efficiency and renewable energy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in renewable energy, finance, economics, engineering, natural sciences or a related field preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Very self motivated
