We are currently seeking a Vice President, Digital Strategy to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the hands-on planning, coordination and management of the development, implementation and financial administration of digital strategies across client business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Partnership
- Serves as strategic digital counsel lead for client engagements based on broad communications landscape and business goals; takes immediate action on client feedback
- Manages financial tracking and administration pertaining to digital programming for key client engagements, in partnership with senior account team members
- Responds to client concerns with thoughtful strategic guidance/responding on a timely basis, demonstrating commitment and ability to troubleshoot problems as they arise
- Takes an active role in developing staffing plans for core businesses
- Leads all aspects of planning and execution of digital projects for clients (including leadership of annual client program planning), ensuring timeliness, efficiency and high-quality delivery of results
- Leads and maintains relationships with core clients and external audiences and partners
- Serves as facilitator/moderator for digital-related client workshops and events, including related platform trainings, digital trend overviews, digital workshops and 101 sessions,
Business Development & Operations
- Partners with SVP/EVPs for forecast development when appropriate
- Utilizes data to drive agency recommendations and idea generation including ability to lead social listening and research projects to uncover clear and actionable insights
- Supports development and presentation of new business proposals from start to finish (in partnership with other team members and partners); presents during new business pitches with confidence
- Fosters positive relationships across organization through leading key areas of organizational efforts (company marketing/digital efforts, professional development opportunities,
- Continuously identifies opportunities for organic growth of digital initiatives within accounts
- Broader team coaching, mentorship program, team outings coordination, etc.)
- Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness and works through issues independently
- Partners with Head of Social and Head of Digital to assess staffing/resources regularly to effectively meet clients’ digital programming needs
Leadership & Teamwork
- Provides direct and constructive feedback to junior team members, supporting them in developing fundamental skill sets (writing, research, logistics, etc.)
- Conducts staff annual reviews and regular check-ins, overseeing professional development and opportunities for growth and advancement
- Partners effectively with agency and other specialty leads across media, digital and creative to deliver integrated programming recommendations for clients; models collaborative abilities with staff
- Serves as a mentor and resource in educating internal teams on digital best practices
- Role models company values and inspires an inclusive culture
- Encourages regular feedback from manager and team members
- Leads onboarding new specialty team members and account team members to best practices for working with digital team
- Proactively seeks out professional development opportunities, skillset growth in digital
- Demonstrates strong strategic leadership skills; guides digital strategy for assigned business and teaches others
- Supervises staff by mentoring, motivating, coaching and providing clear and consistent feedback
Effective Communication
- Creates and refines work processes with account teams including development of strategic briefs and ensuring digital team inclusion as appropriate
- Proactively drives agency recommendations and idea generation
- Demonstrates the ability to apply strong writing skills to all projects, providing thoughtful content strategy and editorial guidance to digital and account team members, ensuring overall quality in all outputs
- Extensive knowledge of digital best practices across channels and keen eye for reviewing digital content for consistency, voice, channel nuances, brand/program style and strategically assessing analytics reports against established KPI
- Hones presentation skills and can effectively coach other team members to further develop their skills accordingly
- Manages workflow on accounts, anticipating and flagging staffing issues and offering solutions to EVP
- Leads client interactions and liaison with external agency and third-party partners (e.g., vendors, digital platform reps, etc.)
DESIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Proactive, self-starter; shows an entrepreneurial spirit
- Superb client relationship management skills
- 10+ years’ communications or related marketing / digital / social experience; Global health issues or health product communications experience preferred
- Approach and yield hyper-targeted, high-impact communications strategies
- Proven managerial acumen
- Can assemble and motivate well-integrated teams to drive client businesses
- Hands-on experience with mobile, web or email marketing not required but an advantage
- Confident with digital data (web, search, social, mobile; quantitative and qualitative), able to direct analytics projects and derive meaningful insights that can inform the strategic
- Has earned respect (internally and externally) and has leadership presence
- Knowledge of relevant guidelines and legislation as they pertain to digital marketing (e.g., GDPR) or to health communications (e.g., FDA or ABPI guidelines); familiarity with international compliance considerations a distinct advantage
- Flexible and dynamic (e.g., willing to change and evolve thinking)
- Positive, professional and flexible attitude that lends itself to quality client service
- Excellent problem solver and negotiation skills
- Consistent attention to detail with mastered ability to manage multiple priorities
- Expert in working across digital platforms and executing programs supporting corporate, branded and unbranded healthcare and lifestyle initiatives
- Resourceful and proactively seeks solutions to challenges
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, marketing, digital, business or health/science-related field or equivalent experience
- Track record of delivering results in digital and influencer engagement
- Track record of leading successful digital and social campaigns. Experience with social media strategy, content creation and campaign management – organic and paid initiatives.
- Understanding of online research, analytics, CRM, CMS and email management software tools, guiding teams on effective and efficient program management, evaluation and integration
- Superb internal and external communications skills (verbal, written, listening)
- Handles conflict diplomatically
- Confident and compelling style in communicating with clients, teams and external stakeholders
- Strong client and team presentation skills

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations.
