Job Description
Who we are:
Want to make an impact? Join our pack and come work (and play!) with us.

We believe everyone deserves the unconditional love of a pet—and at Rover, our mission is to make it easier to experience that love. Founded in 2011, the Rover app and website connect dog and cat parents with loving pet sitters and dog walkers in neighborhoods across the US, Canada, and Europe. We empower our community of trusted pet sitters and dog walkers to run their own pet care businesses on Rover with the tools and security of a global company to back them.

Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, we work closely with our teams in Barcelona, London, San Antonio, Spokane and remote locations. We’ve got a reputation for being a great place to work, having been named among the 100 Best Companies to Work For in Seattle Business Magazine and Washington’s Best Workplaces in the Puget Sound Business Journal. We're an agile, fast-growing company, and our leadership comes from some of the world's most respected tech companies.

At Rover, our furry coworkers are just as important as our human ones—and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Along with making the joys of pet parenthood more accessible, we’re committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming community of pet people—and that starts with our employees.

Who we're looking for:
The WFM practice supports the company’s global operations efforts, while also working with partner teams throughout the organization. This is not your typical analyst role-we're looking for more than just a dashboard builder. We need a business savvy WFM business analyst, who is equally strong in data modeling and deep data analytical skills along with strong business partnering skills, to collaborate with our senior operations leaders to identify highest-impact opportunities for the business and help drive them forward. Over time, you will evolve into a trusted business partner who can surface the right information to assist in decision making at the right time and drive a seamless operation which is effective (quality) and efficient (cost). The ideal candidate must possess a strong technical background with proven expert abilities in data modeling techniques, SQL, building reporting abstractions, and foundational understanding of applied statistics to drive WFM capabilities with a reasonable level of autonomy.

***
This position is approved for remote work only in the following states: WA, ID, TX, GA, NC, MI & FL***

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to both measure and optimize the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness, agent performance and interactions with customers at a global scale
  • Support and partner in building of our WFM data infrastructure and dashboards in partnership with the Analytics team
  • Develop & maintain long-term forecasting models with reasonable level of accuracy and working in partnership with Finance and Accounting team
  • Develop narratives to advise senior leaders of changes in the business and performance

Your Qualifications:

  • Business partnering is your superpower! You get energy from collaborating with senior leaders at the 10k foot level while also diving into details with front-line agents at the 1 inch level
  • You thrive working in an ambiguous environment where you can establish structure to provide clarity to support decision making
  • You have hands-on experience building out data abstractions using tools such as DBT as well as a variety of data visualization tools (e.g., Sisense/Mode, Tableau, etc.)
  • You have at least 4 years experience working cross-functionally with complex datasets in an WFM environment to support organizational decision making
  • You have a college degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., math, statistics, business, finance, accounting)
  • You can reasonably prioritize projects based on return on investment and own the end-to-end project management for our WFM deliverables
  • You have an expert level of expertise using SQL to manipulate large data sets along with forecasting data modeling techniques

Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on experience working with workforce management (e.g., Calabrio) or customer service tools (e.g., Zendesk and Talkdesk)
  • Masters degree in a quantitative field OR on the job experience with applied statistics.
  • Ability to code in Python/R is a plus
  • Experience with forecasting customer demand/contact volumes using a variety of modeling techniques

Benefits of working for Rover:

  • Flexible PTO
  • Company equity
  • Regular team activities, including happy hours, snow tubing, game nights, and more (performed in-person and virtually)
  • 401k
  • Bring your dog to work (and unlimited puppy time)
  • Stocked fridges, coffee, soda, and lots of treats (for humans and dogs) and free catered lunches semi-monthly
  • Doggy benefits, including $1000 toward adopting your first dog
  • Competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Commuter benefits
  • Competitive compensation

Compensation:

  • In the greater Seattle area the first year salary range is $108,694-$136,046. In Washington State out side of the greater Seattle area the first year salary range is $90,654-$116,830. Additionally Rover offers equity (RSU’s) and benefits to all employees.
  • The cash compensation offered for this role will be dependent on the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills and abilities as demonstrated in the interview and hiring process.

We’re driven by seeing our people succeed and grow, and we work to ensure everyone contributes to their fullest potential. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to age, race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, disability, protected veteran status, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or any other protected status in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and ordinances.
