Job Description

Join a dynamic team at the forefront of the intersection between residential construction, economics, and data science. We seek a driven and intellectually curious individual with a passion for quantitative work to help us tackle some of the most challenging questions in the industry. As a member of our quantitative research team at John Burns Research and Consulting, you will have the opportunity to use the power of data to provide innovative solutions for our clients in residential construction.

Minimum Requirements
  • Some SQL skills.
  • 3+ years of deep experience building complex forecast models in R. College coursework doesn’t count.
  • 5-7+ years of experience as a data scientist or quantitative analyst.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings in a clear and logical manner to management and clients.
  • 3+ years of experience with timeseries forecasting in R. College coursework doesn’t count.
  • Strong skills in regression analysis, including the ability to filter through several datapoints and discover where there might be a correlation.
  • Deep understanding of economic theory and the ability to think through complex problems.
  • Comfortable working with large economic datasets.
Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Presenting to clients.
