We are hiring a Sr. Shipping Logistics Coordinator. The Sr. Shipping Logistics Coordinator will provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers by facilitating the accurate and timely shipment and delivery of products and materials.
External US:- Reports routinely against objectives and established KPIs.
- Manages the completion, organization, and maintenance of all transactions, paperwork, reports, records, and documentation to meet compliance standards and business requirements.
- Ensures that excellent communication and support are provided to internal departments and customers, including support for complaint investigation and resolution.
- Reviews freight, carrier, and 3PL invoices for accuracy of charges and account coding.
- Provides freight quote estimates as requested by sales, customer service, or shipping personnel.
- Evaluates freight or inventory costs associated with transit times to ensure that costs are appropriate.
- Supports customer service and shipping departments to ensure documentation, packaging, and other customer requirements are noted and completed as necessary.
- Coordinates shipment cancellations and changes.
- Evaluates and implement procedures within his/her responsibility for excellent service, better efficiency, cost reduction, and improved company reputation.
- Supports Accounting to ensure accurate freight invoicing.
- Files insurance and carrier claims related to shipping activities.
- Ensures tracking and tracing shipments to international and domestic destinations, expediting orders when necessary.
- Assesses order and shipping status and communicates to other departments as required.
- Schedules and monitors pickup, delivery, and distribution of products and materials.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Email, Word, Excel.
- Experience supporting operations in a multi-site, multinational manufacturing environment is desired
- Knowledge of cold chain packaging and logistics.
- Knowledge of supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions / alternatives.
- Experience with ERP, CRM, and similar enterprise business systems.
- Strong customer service experience.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements, with emphasis on finished goods inventory control and transportation.
- 4-8+ years of related experience in a shipping logistics role with international responsibilities (import/export).
- Excellent organizational skills.
- College graduate preferred with degree in supply chain management, business, operations management, or related field; High School Diploma (or equivalent) and relevant experience may be substituted for adegree.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Experience in life science, biopharma, or related industry is preferred.
- Experience with pharma and/or medical device shipping and export highly desired.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Direct experience and strong knowledge of operational procedures regarding distribution logistics, such as air and ocean shipping, cross docking, import/export and related documentation, freight forwarders, LSPs/3PLs, etc.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, type, and talk on the phone. The ability to type and to hear is essential.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- The employee is frequently required to read, compile, compute, and record data.
- The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the warehouse work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- The noise level in the work environment is that of a business office with telephones, computers, and printers operating.
- In scope of job may have to enter shipping/receiving warehouse which includes exposure to freezers and refrigerators with low temperatures. Required to wear jacket and safety equipment for freezers.
