BAY FC
Amidst record-breaking attendance and sponsorship growth, the National Women’s Soccer League is expanding to the San Francisco Bay Area for the first time. An investor group led by investment firm Sixth Street was granted expansion rights in early 2023 and will begin competition at the start of the 2024 season
As the majority investor in the new club, Sixth Street will draw upon its deep experience in sports including its investments with Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and the San Antonio Spurs. The firm is also partnered with the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys through its majority investment in Legends, a global sports and live venue experience business. Sixth Street believes in long-term partnerships and backing great founders, CEOs, and management teams to create value and grow businesses.
Sixth Street has partnered with four former U.S. Women’s National Team players in Brandi Chastain, Leslie Osborne, Danielle Slaton, and Aly Wagner as co-founders of the club. As the club’s Founding Football Four, they will be represented on the club’s majority women board and will work alongside Sixth Street in setting the team’s strategic direction as a global sports franchise.
Sixth Street is focused on backing and supplementing the club’s co-founders with significant relationships and capabilities that will allow it to attract and retain the best soccer talent in the world. Sixth Street is committed to equipping the club with best-in-class infrastructure, including building a world-class training facility in the immediate term. Sixth Street will also work with the club and the NWSL to activate close global soccer relationships and catalyze a global sports competition for women’s club soccer while providing flexible, partnership-oriented capital that is designed to grow alongside the club and the league.
THE ROLE
The Sr Manager of Global Partnerships for Bay FC will be an integral member of the Legends Global Partnerships Team as well as the Bay FC Global Partnerships Team, located in San Francisco Bay area. The Sr Manager will be primarily focused on helping source and execute significant new business partnerships for Bay FC.
This person will connect directly with brand decision makers on a regular basis to increase market activity and investment opportunities across the Bay FC portfolio of assets. The Sr Manager is responsible for generating leads, driving revenue, participating in contract negotiations, and working with property leaders and stakeholders both internally and externally. The ideal candidate possesses a strong passion for sales development and positive enthusiasm for collaboration with teammates. The Sr Manager, Global Partnerships will report to the Head/Sr Director of Global Partnerships for Bay FC.
Essential Functions
  • Coordinate with Legends Global Partnerships teammates to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of sales process, inclusive of managing and maintaining internal communication platforms (i.e., CRM, Asana)
  • Establish and maintain relationships with prospects and client.
  • Attend major conferences and special events to build new relationships with agencies, brands and sports and entertainment
  • Develop and build partner opportunities from the ground
  • Efficiently prospect through extensive company and executive research for strategic market
  • Develop a deep understanding of target partner
  • Construct a brand prospect pipeline and creative outreach plan (via targeting and qualifying leads through calls and referrals) for potential opportunities for Bay FC.
  • Manage annual revenue goals, pipeline management, and growth
  • Collaborate with internal and external staff to plan, ideate, and develop strategic marketing platforms to present to new
  • Think strategically to drive long-term partner opportunities, while executing against short-term go-to- market sales strategies for Bay FC.
  • Create newsworthy innovative partnerships that pioneer new categories, inventory, campaigns/platforms, and/or partner integrations.
  • Communicate with internal staff to coordinate meetings and other touchpoints throughout the sales process.

Qualifications

Compensation
Competitive salary ($75,000-$90,000) + bonus potential, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
