Location: Candidate must live in state within the assigned territory (CO, UT, WY, NM, MT)

Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000 annually

Job Overview (What You’ll Do):

Ruffwear is looking for a skilled and ambitious sales professional to join our Sales Team! This position is responsible for partnering and connecting with Ruffwear’s retailers in the Rocky Mountains region. The key to success in this role is to assort and connect Ruffwear products with retailers by demonstrating a customer-centered approach. This position will strive to consistently exceed customer’s expectations by understanding accounts, their customers, and the challenges they face.


Job Responsibilities (How You’ll Do It):

  • Coordinate and execute local event marketing opportunities.
  • Participate in regional and national trade shows and events, as needed.
  • Maximize Ruffwear’s brand presence and presentation on online retail platforms in partnership with account representatives and our preferred partners.
  • Focus on creating intentional, deep and meaningful partnerships with retailers.
  • Manage assigned account base’s business through attention to inventory flow, business planning, and sales analysis consistent with Ruffwear’s policies, programs, and practices.
  • Plan the use of Ruffwear’s “Landmark Retailer” funds through the development and implementation of account-specific marketing and sales programs which support brand and customer experience.
  • Support the brand by facilitating in-person and virtual retailer employee clinics and training.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement in sales and business planning skills, including merchandise planning and forecasting, retail marketing, merchandising tools usage, and market trend analysis.
  • Prospect new business by identifying our best opportunities to open accounts that align with our values and are excited to connect Ruffwear to customers.

Travel

Regular travel (1-2x per month) within the assigned territory is required. Occasional domestic travel for sales events, trade shows, and meetings may be required.


Job Requirements (What You Need to Succeed):


Required Education and Experience

  • Experience working with ERP or CRM systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • Self-motivated, possessing excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Passion for dogs and first-hand understanding of the interactive bond between canines and humans.
  • Retail assortment planning and/or merchandising experience.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and purchase forecasting.
  • 4+ years of sales experience, preferably in field sales or account management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience managing e-commerce accounts.
  • 5+ years of Account Management experience.
  • Passion for the outdoors.
  • Experience in the outdoor and/or consumer products industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business, or related field.

Base Salary: $70,000-$85,000 annually


This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on several factors such as experience, knowledge, and skills.
