You will analyze, visualize, and tailor merchandising efforts with an appropriate level of product creativity and innovation. You will bring to the table strong leadership and development skills, sound business judgment, and solid managerial skills. You will also possess a keen sense of customer identity, service, and product relevance. This position will be highly visible and will impact business solutions across Chartwells Higher Education.
- Collaborate with Divisional Directors of Marketing on the Merchandise Planning and Allocation.
- Transforms consumer feedback into winning product assortments.
- Ensures beneficial vendor alliances.
- Oversight for product mix, distortion, gross margin, and promotional expenditures.
- Serves as merchant leader for consumer and trend awareness.
- Develops processes and practices around pricing promotions to meet sales and margin targets.
- Evaluating and analyzing product performance and developing necessary.
- Analyze sales statistics to determine the sales potential and inventory requirements of products and campus locations to monitor customers' preferences.
MERCHANDISE CONTROL AND ANALYTICS:
- Ensure appropriate inventory management, where purchase orders are placed in a timely manner, inventory is aligned with customer selling, goods are flowing at the necessary rate, cancelable backups are in place and goods can be received earlier if selling dictates.
- Establish and maintain effective merchandise control systems including replenishment, open-to-buy, seasonal, spot checks, etc.
- Will require up to 65% travel
- Serves as a centralized planning resource, overseeing content and standards
- Collaborates with onsite marketing managers to ensure quality and alignment
- Coaches and inspires unit marketing managers to achieve profitability, sales, and impact goals
- Creates solutions that will enhance the customer experience
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on merchandising experience
- Experience developing/working with planograms
- Detail and timeline-oriented
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Strategic, creative, and innovative - stays up to date with current marketing tools and trends
- Ability to work with a wide variety of internal functions and stakeholders
- Basic understanding of financial concepts: revenue, margins, costs, and risks
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to adjust content across stakeholders
