The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Region Business Operations Director, EVP Administration (Western States Special Projects). This remote opportunity has a location that is flexible within the Western States region (Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington).


Under general supervision, the Region Business Operations Director provides complex project management as part of the Office of the Executive Vice President (EVP) to ensure strategic business alignment and communication across key internal and external stakeholders. This includes advanced project and stewardship management maintaining the highest level of integrity, confidentiality, and diplomacy.

  • Manages the communication with the Western States Region Board of Directors and serves as the project staff lead for meetings and cultivation/recognition efforts. Prepares and distributes meeting materials in coordination with national and regional departments including financial update and program outcomes; creates dashboards, presentations and summaries that present information in a concise and clear format, surveys members for meeting effectiveness and provides and implements recommendations to optimize volunteer engagement.
  • Manages communication and cultivation efforts with key donors, volunteers and other stakeholders in collaboration with national and regional departments. Ensures that regular contact is maintained, communications and/or meetings are arranged to support ongoing relationship building.
  • Provides executive level administrative support for EVP including calendar, travel, and expense management.
  • Functions as the project staff lead for recurring and ad-hoc internal strategic and tactical planning meetings with Senior Management Team, Executive Directors, and other department teams. Develops agendas, presentations, talking points and materials in collaboration and coordination with national and regional departments. Records notes and action items and ensures follow-up on agreed upon deliverables.
  • Manages staff recognition and cultivation efforts including touchpoints for personal occasions.
  • Facilitates cross-functional coordination, communication, and outreach to ensure effective alignment of market, region and association-wide planning and execution.


Minimum of five (5) years' experience that includes


  • Experience and interest in direct outreach to establish new and stewarding existing relationships.
  • Project management experience with C-suite executives in comparable organizations with demonstrated excellence in resourcefulness and organization/planning.
  • Experience in internal and external communications, partnership development/donor stewardship and fundraising.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Expected pay range will be $55,200 to $77,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range

We are hiring a Development Director in Little Rock, AR.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and securing development prospects for the Little Rock Heart Challenge campaign. This campaign brings together corporate partners, medical leaders, community leaders, and volunteers of the community to bring awareness and spread the mission of the American Heart Association. You will also plan, implement, and evaluate the event. This role will build a vision and strategy translating it into specific action plans for each account. You will actively work with team members to grow existing accounts, secure new ones, and expand the volunteer base of the organization.
This is an office-based position that offers a hybrid schedule in a fast-paced environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission.
We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets.

In this role, you will be responsible to
  • Goal setting with corporate companies and individuals to raise funds and awareness.
  • Track, report and maintain results using a variety of database and campaign management systems.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with volunteers, sponsors, and key corporate & community leaders.
  • Recruit and lead high level corporate volunteers and philanthropists.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Work strategically with staff in multiple campaigns and volunteer teams charged with the Heart Challenge campaign to accomplish results.
  • Conduct sales calls to generate new business and upgrade existing company partnerships by engaging them in our mission.
  • Networking within the local area and recruiting and retaining our valued volunteers.
  • Event management including but not limited to planning, logistics, implementation, volunteer partnerships and evaluation post-event for constant improvements.
  • Generate revenue and volunteer management.
