Puʻuhonu (Hilo, Hawaiʻi): Laekahi Hokona A Laupāpaho (Marketing & Digital Media Specialist)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for working with the Chief Executive Officer in the development and oversight of the ʻAha Pūnana Leo marketing efforts in alignment with our organizations culture, by driving social media, advancing outreach, and overseeing the ʻAha Pūnana Leo market.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, BASIC DUTIES

• Assumes responsibility for strategic marketing and public relations; positioning the organization in a positive public relations
• Manage all media inquiries and distribute and/or request approval signatures
• Assists with creation of event experiences for fundraising and awareness community engagement activities and market efforts
• Manage PR vendors or contractors–develop media plan, buy content, draft press releases and track/audit campaign results
• Engagement with social population reach across different channels
• Planning, developing and executing social media campaigns–crafting and posting content in collaboration with other departments for active social accounts
• E-commerce and website management; postings and updates; fulfillment, shipping and inventory management including new product launches and development
• Analyze social data and collaborate with other departments to manage reputation and coordinate actions
• Other duties and tasks outside of regular work duties listed above to be assigned by CEO or COO.
• Experience or applicable knowledge for creating social media strategies
• Create, develop and assist with strategic interenal and external communications to targeted audiences

• Must have a familiarity with the Hawaiian Language.
• Knowledge of best practices and effective trends for social media platform engagement such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
• Proficient in social media outreach development
• Minimum of a Bachelors degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
