Job Description
Summary
Atlanta United is seeking a driven and knowledgeable candidate who will have a laser focus on understanding our fans to drive business results through performance marketing. Primary responsibilities will include management of our email, SMS and media channels with collaboration across the business to increase revenue and overall fan engagement.
This Digital Marketing Specialist will report directly into the Manager of Media and Performance Marketing to support promotions, events, advertising, and marketing to deliver business objectives, fan retention, and advancement of brand equity in the marketplace. This candidate should have a passion for their work and the ability to develop ideas that will excite consumers through narrative content across all formats.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with all departments
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Develop tracking mechanisms for each email campaign to help evaluate overall effectiveness, strengths, and opportunities
  • Submit briefs and coordinate development of creative assets with design team to ensure all email content is on brand and consistent in style across platforms
  • Copywrite and develop language consistent with brand voice
  • Ability to create and implement strategy around messaging plans and fan journeys including but not limited to email and SMS
  • Identify target segments across existing and potential fan bases to personalize experiences and offers delivering event attendance, ticket sales, and the distribution of engaging content for fans
  • Management of email process from ideation, execution of brand look and feel, content creation/sourcing, prioritizing and inclusion of departmental requests in addition to finalizing and approving final sends
  • Innovate new and effective ways to engage fans, distribute content & drive efficiencies within the marketing department
  • Maintain the email marketing calendar and manage email production to ensure deliverables stay on schedule and are prioritized accordingly
  • Deliver weekly recaps of email and SMS running in market and communicate regular KPI reports & performance trends
Qualifications, Skills, and Education Requirements
  • Possess exceptional organization and time management skills; self-starter; ability to project manage and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Basic skill in graphic design is a plus.
  • Quantitative mindset but also comfortable with positioning, messaging, and brand.
  • 2-3 year of experience in email, SMS and/or performance marketing
  • Data- driven mindset driving marketing performance
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training or experience required.
  • Availability to work irregular hours, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and think creatively.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, experience in dealing with multiple and diverse internal stakeholders, and interacting with business partners.
  • Excellent writing and proof-reading skills, including superior attention to detail.
