We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our company's finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for constructing internal policies and procedures, managing the monthly close process, and leading the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, is a motivated self-starter, and can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This role reports to the Head of Strategic Finance.

What You'll Do:

You will collaborate daily with Operators, Chefs, Engineers, Product Managers, and Senior Leadership on a variety of projects and deliverables that all enhance the financial health of the Company. In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities, you will have a unique opportunity to put your mark on the company. This is an individual contributor role with the opportunity to lead the development of the accounting function, including building or improving processes and creating efficiencies for the team.

Responsibilities / Tasks

• Experience with major accounting software packages for general ledger accounting (QuickBooks or ramp a plus)
• Ensure that financial statements are delivered in accordance with GAAP
• Ensure timely processing of customer payments, credit memos and deductions
• Help foster a culture of continuous improvement mind-set, drive change within the department
• Strong proficiency in Excel and other financial analysis tools
• Prepare monthly financial statement reporting, consolidations, and trend analysis
• Lead and manage all month-end close activities
• IFRS16 Lease Accounting experience is a plus
• Review existing processes and systems to identify improvement opportunities with a focus on simplification, standardization, and operational efficiencies
• Maintain accounting ledgers by posting monthly account transactions
• Compile internal tax data for external CPA firm

Requirements

• IFRS16 Lease Accounting experience is a plus
• Experience with major accounting software packages for general ledger accounting (QuickBooks or ramp a plus)
• 5+ years of accounting experience, public and private experience preferred
• Creative thinker who can bring innovative ideas and approaches to solve issues
• Entrepreneur mindset that can multi-task and remain flexible with changing priorities
• Highly organized, detailed-oriented self-starter who can work independently and within a team
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, CPA a plus
• Industry experience in retail, restaurants, consumer products and/or manufacturing preferred
• Ability to effectively communicate clear and concise ideas verbally and in writing
• Strong proficiency in Excel and other financial analysis tools
