Project Accountant Jobs

Privately owned integrated real estate firm specializing in the acquisition, master planning and redevelopment of underutilized or obsolete urban land throughout the Southern California marketplace has an immediate opportunity for a Project Accountant.This position is responsible for the real estate development and corporate accounting functions covering multiple entities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·Setup and maintain projects including budgets, contract commitments, change orders, and direct costs.

·Verify and post AP for project invoices upon project manager approval.

·Ensure vendor compliance with contract document as required, i.e. certificates of insurance and lien waivers.

·Ensure timely processing of development draw packages to owner/lender.

·Ensure proper accounting treatment including deposits, accruals and prepaids.

·Monitor and maintain project budget vs. actual costs to date.

·Meet with project manager to review project budgets/costs/draws as required.

·Prepare monthly cost entries, journal entries, bank reconciliations, GL review, financial reports and all related processes.

·Maintain all related project files and vendor AP files.

·Annual 1099 filings.

·Special reports when necessary.

The qualified candidate for this diverse and demanding role must have a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of (2) years experience in real estate construction accounting, preferably within the job costing field.Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office.Strong organizational and communication skills (written/verbal) are imperative as well as the ability to solve problems and handle multiple and simultaneous priorities in a professional and personable manner.Applicants must have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated.Sage Timberline/300 experience preferred with experience in full cycle accounting through financial statement.
