Job Description
Oakdale Irrigation District’s mission is to protect and develop water resources for the maximum


benefit of our community by providing excellent irrigation and domestic water service. We serve


over 80,000 acres of prime agricultural farmland in Stanislaus County, and an additional 77,700


acres within our sphere of influence. The District provides surface irrigation (raw) water to over


2,900 connections and supplies domestic water to over 700 customers.

We are looking for a full-time non-exempt Accountant in our Finance Department.


Salary: $37.39 - $45.45 per hour + comprehensive benefits package. The position will be under


the general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer.


Duties include performing professional accounting duties related to preparing financial statements, reviewing fiscal records, and monitoring accounting transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, Treasurer’s reports, and other reports for management, government agencies, financial institutions, and the Board of Directors. Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing, initiating, and performing journal entries, adjusting entries, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Prepare audit work papers and assist the independent auditors with the annual audit, develop internal control procedures, and perform internal audits.


Experience: Three (3) years of professional accounting experience.


Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with major coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.


Requirements: Possession of an appropriate California Driver’s License.
