Randstad is actively assisting a long time client with its search for a Senior Project Manager (Program Manager) (REMOTE). Our client is a well established and profitable organization with a strong track record of employee development and retention. They are offering competitive compensation, and looking to hire quickly.
As Program Manager you will have the opportunity to work in a high-paced, international environment, solve complex problems, participate in building IS solution capability and grow together with the rapidly developing business. We are looking for senior IS Project Manager with experience managing IS projects in a global environment, utilizing both Agile and Waterfall methods. The senior IS Project Manager will primarily be responsible for running the client's larger and more complex IS projects; ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality are met according to global KPI measurements.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure successful delivery of the IS project; closely collaborating with the business project manager on overall project success and all required project documentation
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and deliver the IS project outcomes to time, scope, cost, and quality
- Proactively work with IS and business leadership to establish project management plans (plan projects, objectives, value/benefits, scope, timeline, resources, cost, and risks) for assigned projects
- Actively seek to find and manage interdependencies between projects, ensuring proactive collaboration between the projects as well as proactive engagement and management of global and local project participants and stakeholders
- Monitor and control project financials, including oversight of budget consumption and project invoicing
- Proactively manage project issues and scope changes to minimize the impact on the comprehensive portfolio execution plan
- Collaborate with Workforce and Service Managers to ensure successful delivery of assigned projects
- Liaison with the IS Run organization to ensure timely planning and engagement of hand over to operations as a part of the overall project plan
- Adeptly identify and manage project risks, ensuring appropriate risk mitigation plans are in place and schedules are managed according to the risk conditions
- Facilitate project close out, including value delivery assessments and capture of key lessons learned
- Provide external contractor/consultant engagement management in terms of ensuring execution of the agreed delivery proposal; inclusive of ensuring contract and claims management is in accordance with contractual agreements
- Ensure consistent project communications, including formal project status reporting on performance against plan and expected business outcomes
Qualifications:
- PMP® certification or similar
- Exceptional team player and collaborator:
- Serves as a role model for each project team member
- Experience developing funding proposals for potential projects, including formal business cases and executive presentations to summarize proposals
- 8-10+ years of experience managing programs and projects
- Demonstrated leadership/management competencies
- Strong ability to communication effectively with local, global, and cross-divisional virtual teams
- Mitigates project team conflict
- Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner
- Experience in environments that leverage formal software development methodologies
- Organization, time management and decision-making skills
- Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members
- Experience working in technical or testing roles within IS
- Experience with SAP, FI/CO focus preferred
- Knowledge on application development processes, including thorough knowledge of IT service management concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated customer focus with the ability to build effective working relationships with all stakeholders
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related field
- Strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills; ability to negotiate resolution of controversial issues with businesses and 3rd party suppliers
- Effectively utilizes each project team member to his/her fullest potential
- Ability to delegate to team and manage them to achieve desired output
- Experience using Microsoft Project, Planview or similar project management tools
- Project related travel may be required during certain project phases; up to 30%
- Experience within ABB leading large complex business critical global or regional programs and projects
- Strong understanding of how to drive organizational change management
- Consistently acknowledges and appreciates each project team member's contributions at the local and global level
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail / detail-oriented
- Executive presence, tenacious, takes ownership, team player
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Experience leading transformational projects in a global company
