Position: Project Analyst

Location: 2-3 days onsite in Sac (Hybrid)

Must Haves:

• 2-5 years of experience within Project Controls, Project Analysis, or Assistant Project Management.
• Someone who understands construction project financials, contractor payout process, etc.
• Detail oriented personality, and someone who is not timid. Will have to control PM's and check their work.
• Cost-control background preferred.
• Experience with any Project Management software.
• Knowledge of financial processes and requirements in the different phases of construction projects is necessary.
• Working with change orders, invoicing, & payments. Working with PM's and contractors; checking their work before submittals.

Plusses:

• Experience bookkeeping for general contractors.
• Understanding of a complex organization within construction.
• Excel proficiency.

Day to Day/Responsibilities:

Working with QA and QC team, this candidate is there to make sure there's no mistakes within the financial processes on the FP&D's construction projects. Provide help to the Finance Manager to ensure things are complete before they get to Finance team. This position is a combination of Analyst and Project Manager Analyst roles. Need to be a technical person focused on the details. They will be supporting the Finance Manager from Facilities Planning and Development side. Reporting to Director of Project Controls.

• Support Project Managers, Supervisors and Directors in preparing presentations and reports related to budgets and schedules for both approvals and as management tools for planning, tracking, and communicating expectations.
• Assist in implementing short- and long-range planning and departmental goals. Prioritize and track delivery of those goals.
• Provide monthly reports to stakeholders and leadership with focus on schedule and budget status.
• Support the coordination of the design process, including the interface between design professionals and campus stakeholders. Support the oversight of campus design review processes and secure formal design approval from all agencies as required.
• Special tasks in support of programs & campus initiatives, including but not limited to process improvements, selection of staff/consultants, development of standards, preparation of contracts.
• Practice and support standardized project management practices and processes to support University dept objectives and long-term goals while assuring alignment with other teams.
• Responsible to support Project Managers, Supervisors and Directors on capital and non-capital improvement projects, including programmatic functionality, architectural quality, user satisfaction, durability, maintainability, environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, value, budget and schedule. May work in a support role with senior Project Managers on larger project efforts.
• Support the project close-out process to ensure final documentation is received, tracked, and shared.
• Provide support during coordination of move-in, keying, equipment hook-ups and telecommunication/computer installations. Assist with communication to UCD Health user departments.
• Compose and draft input for Leadership reports.
