Job Description

Trident Consulting is seeking a " Program Manager and MBE Development " for one of our Clients in Oakland, CA. A global leader in business and technology services.



Title: Program Manager and MBE Development

Job Type: Contract-to-hire

Location: Remote


Job Summary:

  • This position is 100% remote but does require in-person engagement in support of in-person events at both the client's office in Oakland and the actual event locations.
  • Maintain, design and execute development programs for Client's Corporate Members and MBEs.
  • Any required company travel expenses will be fully covered by the client.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Development Program Design and Execution 75%


  • Plan and execute development program related small events, both virtual and in-person, webinars etc. (10-30 attendees for MBE events and up to 200 for corporate member events)
  • Occasionally support client as a representative at outreach events
  • Establish relationships with other diversity organizations for joint delivery and support of Client's development programs.
  • Act as liaison to strategic development partners
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for Corporate Member and MBE Development
  • Ensure that development programs are appropriate to each sub-region (Bay Area, Northern & Central Valley, Northern Nevada, Southern Nevada, Hawaii)
  • Act as council representative to MBE Input Committee meetings and other, ad hoc MBE committees
  • Manage systems related to development programs
  • Create or direct the creation of materials or collateral to assist Corporate Members and MBEs in development activities
  • Assist in identifying and securing development speakers for workshops, meetings, events, and programs as needed
  • Responsible for outreach and engagement of MBEs and Corporate Members in client's developments
  • Support all Client's Signature events on site for up to three days (Day before, Day of, and Day after)
  • Identify opportunities and work with both external resources and internal staff to create and maintain development programs relating to Corporate Member and MBE development
  • Coaching how to best leverage their certification and proper outreach to corporations, capability statement reviews and pitch evaluation, and other development-related topics
  • Develop collateral materials, web pages, social media campaigns and other communications as needed to promote funding of and participation in Client's development programs
  • Provide oversight of program development consultants, temporary workers, and/or volunteers in support of program development as appropriate
  • Collaborate with Certification Director to prepare reports to executive leadership and Board of Directors measuring the effectiveness of MBE development activities



Non-essential duties:

MBE Input and Research 25%


  • Ensure efficient data tracking and integrity of internal/external sites.
  • Generate reports as needed.
  • Special Projects as needed
  • Perform data reporting, tracking, gathering, maintenance, and communication of information as directed.
  • Assist Executive team with Salesforce contact directory updating and maintenance.
  • Assist and collaborate with Client's staff and outside resources to develop processes to help guide MBEs to online opportunity resources


Skills/Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to be given an objective and, through self-direction, determine the steps necessary to accomplish the objective.
  • Strong multitasking skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness,
  • Ability to analyze and develop long term strategy for Client's educational programming

  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with technical and non-technical team members and external providers.

  • Proven experience with application/systems, performance monitoring techniques, methods and metrics.
