Job Title: Program Development Officer

Sanborn Analytics, a nonprofit corporation based in Winthrop, MA, is seeking an Independent Contractor to act as a Program Development Officer to develop and implement a fundraising strategy for the naming rights to a proposed onshore Maritime AIS station to be located in East Boston, MA. The successful candidate will work independently as an independent contractor to secure a single donor willing to donate $475,000.00 in exchange for the naming rights to the AIS station.

Responsibilities:

• Negotiate and close the naming rights agreement with the donor.
• Create a compelling case for support and communicate the benefits of donating to the AIS station project.
• Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to secure a donor for the naming rights to the AIS station.
• Provide regular updates on fundraising progress and maintain accurate records of all donor interactions.
• Collaborate with the Sanborn Analytics team to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Identify and cultivate potential donors and build relationships with them.

Requirements:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.
• Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising regulations and best practices.
• Familiarity with the maritime industry and AIS technology is a plus.
• Proven track record of success in fundraising, particularly in securing major gifts.

Compensation:

This is an independent contractor's agreement. The compensation for this position is 5% of the donation received or a minimum of $25,000, whichever is greater.

Location:

This is a remote or work-from-home position (WFH/Flex).
