Payroll Manager Job Overview: The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Duties + Responsibilities:


  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Preparation of multi-state payrolls Benefits: Associates who are regularly scheduled for and work 30 hours or more per week are eligible for company-sponsored benefits the 1st day of the month, following completion of 30 continuous days of employment. Benefits offered include medical, dental and vision coverage, as well as 401K and life insurance. Regular, full-time associates are eligible to accrue paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.   • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Three to five years of related experience required.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Experience in multi-department payrolls is preferred.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Experience with Paycor payroll system. Education + Experience:
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills + Abilities:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Experience in the multi-family property management industry is preferred.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
