JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for developing and effectively soliciting new sales prospects and former clients for the purpose of selling guest rooms, group facilities and catering services in accordance with the “Universal Orlando” and “Loews Hotels” business objectives for profitability, sales volume and penetration of targeted market segments.
Mid-Atlantic Territory/Orlando based
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains current familiarity with all components of the UO facilities, competitive strengths/weaknesses as relates to services offered and pricing to ensure sales prospects receive accurate information.
- Promotes UO services to prospective customers by conducting site tours of the hotel guest rooms and function space.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Prepares and customizes sales proposals and service contracts to reflect the requirements for prospective clients, negotiates rates and prices within established guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Develops, solicits and negotiates group bookings through direct sales calls, trade shows, lead follow up mail and telemarketing to achieve objectives for sales volume and associated revenues. Sets individual goals and develops strategies (within the intent of the overall sales and marketing plan). Seeks out sources of new business, participates in associations, committees and community events to develop effective contracts. Follows up on sales leads received and inputs booking information in the Delphi Reservation System.
- Keeps abreast of local hospitality marketing to be informed of marketing opportunities and/or business trends that could effect future sales; will be used to formulate sales strategies and future planning efforts.
- Attends staff meetings to discuss progress toward achieving business goals, examine emerging business trends, identify sales opportunities and receive information on upcoming marketing opportunities to correspond with sales efforts.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Business or Hospitality required.
EXPERIENCE: 5-7 Years in previous management Sales experience with ability to close business; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
